Hostel The Globe Center

I have been to this hostel twice and I absolutely love it! It is a very short 10 minute walk from the train station and right in the heart of the red light district! Cant get any better than that! The beds are pretty comfortable and the sheets are very clean. I've been to hostels where the pillows have a funky smell but never experienced that here. Very convenient that the wifi is free. Also enjoyed the smoking room. I was very impressed with the prices of the breakfast. I had 2 over easy eggs with a large side of fries and it was only 4 EURO! Every time I come to Amsterdam I will always stay here.

The only complaint or concern that I had was the cleanliness of the showers/bathrooms. I've seen MUCH worse but the bathrooms seem to only be cleaned once a day and that is mid morning. So by night time the bathrooms arent very clean. Minor issue.

This hotel/hostel is a quick 10 mins walk from central station and has a great deal of sights within walking distance. Staff very friendly. Very comfortable beds. Showers are ok and communal areas could do with being cleaned throughout the day. Recommend and would stay here again.

Good Hostel close to everythink but not right on top decent bar downstair bit noisy but this is a hostel would have no problems stopping here again!!!

Excellent location. Small rooms.

Everything was satisfactory. Counter staff could have been more friendly and smiled more. Also, the dorm where I stayed only on 2 power outlets. This in not enough when the dorm caters to 12 people.

The location is really good, close to Dam Square, shops and main attraction :)

Near the station and the beginning of the red light area, but it is very crowed if you book a 18 bed room and the upper bed is not safe if you don't sleep still, because the beds don't have bars.

Good hostel for a short stay. Maybe a small towel in the bathroom for hand would have beed good but very nice trip and the hostel was very clean. The smoking room was also nice.

Good bathrooms, and good staff, and food. The location is by far the best part of the hostel,very close to all the fun. Beer and food is expensive but so is everything else in Amsterdam. Staff is nice and good for asking questions.

I have read a lot of bad reviews about this hostel but i did not experience the same. I thought the hostel was fine. I stayed in a 20 person dorm for 5 nights, the bed was fine, the shower was hot and the bar staff were nice. The location was great as well. I would stay again.

Wonderful. Absolutely wonderful. And the cheapest Heineken's that we could find in Red Light District. And the sportsbar and friendly staff: wonderful!

If you want a hostel near the red light district and you don't mind (or won't notice) a bit of noise this place is great. 10 mins from the station and with a good bar to boot.

The beds were comfortable and the shower was warm, this is valuable.

However, on one night, there was a continuous mess from around 5am to 7:30am in the aisles/stairs. Nobody did anything against that.

Then, the atmosphere is not as fun as in other hostels because there is no common space but for the bar downstairs, and only one key per room is a little inconvenient.

Finally, for this price (over 40 euros a night in a 8-bed dorm!!!) the breakfast should be included.

For me This hostel is the worse the europe. The bathroom is small and don´t have window. Don´t have kitchen for you use. Don´t have hall meet where the people can know other guests. The bedroon isn´t clean. Believe....it´s true. About positive things....there is sport bar below hostel and the localization is good. But I don´t recommend.

Non polite wonkers and a feeling that you cannot trust to be there. Ive been to several hostels and I think it was the only one where I felt like that.

The hostel location is great! Everything is clean and the rooms are nice.

I have just one thing to say: the hostel real name is "Hostel the globe sport center" and it has a blue door. We missed it at first because of this!

So it is close to central station, and i could see chanel from my window even from my bed, but the bed and rooms are so old, and my sheet was with smoking burn holes, staff is kind and modest, i shared my room with 4 girls and 3 boys, they were good people.

The hostel is really in the center, in the middle of the Red Light District and near the train station. Rooms are a bit crowded and facilities are very basic.

+ Good location. Very helpfull and freindly staff.

It's a very dirty hostel with a stinking corridor and dirty bathrooms. Ony the location is nice - a few meters away from the red-light district.

Not so clean, strange people around...

very close to busy nightlife which is a plus.. very nice staff, i had no problem with my reservation even when i was late for checking in.. very clean sheets and rooms, though interior is a little old... and the bathroom's very small.. loved the center city with all its attractions.. amsterdam is really the city that never sleeps

This hostel was quite bad. The rooms had 22 people in them (and I paid 20 euro for my bed) without air or even a fan. The reception where horrible, and no lobby to eat in. Great location and very close to everything but not worth it. Spend your money else where.

The toilets are the worse I have used.They smell,no soap,no paper towels to wipe your hands.Not even in the toilet in the bar area.The showers would not drai! when taken shower ,even though I had shower shoes on the water would come up over my ankles(NASTY!!!).

The hostel did not accept our baggage till 10 am. we wasted our 3 hours for this problem. otherwise the hostel is very good.

The hostel is quite good, if you are going to spend some time with your friend. The only drawback is that there is 1 key for each room so if you are inside and somebody needs to enter in the middle of the night, you must open...

In complex I suggest this hostel to you.

only the position is great! 5 mins from the central station...but everything else was DISGUSTING!!!! the room was dirty, the walls were moldy...

Great spot, staff were very friendly. NO kitchen though!!! Pool/ smoking room in bar was good. Maybe was here for a bad night but no atmosphere in the bar. WIFI doesnt reach rooms. 7/10

too old to be saying in a dirty loud place like this - if I was 20 it would be the perfect place!

The hostel staff was very friendly and helpful for any questions I had. The bar wasn't to bad and probably had some of the better prices in town for food and drinks considering how expensive everything else in Amsterdam is.

As for the room I wasn't overall impressed. The bathroom wasn't to bad but our room had mold growing in a corner but we only sletp in it and I kept in mind that I only paid 12 euros for a spot right next to the Red Light District and 5 minutes walking distance to the train station so I shouldn't be expecting luxury be any means.

If you're not to concerned with anything else but having a place to crash then go for it. If you need cleanliness then this hostel isn't exactly up your alley.

Very nice place,it was a real hotel.Free bedsheets (no towels),very friendly and nice staff,a bar with a garden is downstairs.Rooms are really comfortable but we didn't have a window.Free WiFi.

The hotel is near the train station. the staff is very nice less a guy who was not polite with my group.

We were a group of 9 boys and we had an excellent stay in the Hostel. The staff was nice and we enjoyed the excellent position of the hostel.

There is nothing which we have to complain about. Go ahead and reserve!

This was an extemely comfortable, well located, and cheap hostel. Very good value for money, and if I return with friends someday, I will direct them to this hostel. Thank you very much!

Not a bad place. Don't go here because of the bar, it isn't cheap, generally quite empty and not even a good place to chill since you have to buy an overpriced drink just to sit there. If you want an inexpensive hostel in a great location, especially near many coffeeshops, then this is the place for you
