After knowing the cities of Croatia that you should not miss and marvel at the landscapes of Split, we travel to another part of the country: Zagreb, its capital and largest city.

Maybe the name does not sound familiar to you - yet - but we are sure that after this article you will not see the time to visit the city! This time we only have a weekend, and we have to take advantage! Are you coming on a trip?

Ban Jelacic Trg

The first stop on your trip could not be other than Ben Jelacic Trg - known as The Horse Square - here you can get a map of the city at the tourist office and connect to a free WiFi network. It is located in the old town of Zagreb, at the south of the Dolac Market, and is really beautiful!

The Strossmayer Gallery

It is always advisable to feed the culture! In Zagreb you can find the gallery Strossmayer, a neo-renaissance villa with a vast and fabulous collection of art. To mention some of the artists exposed: Fra Angelico, Vittore Carpaccio, Peter Brueghel the Younger, Jacques-Louis David ...

St. Mark's Church

We go to the old town of Gradec, or what is the same, the high city, which you can access on foot or by the shortest funicular in the world, only 66 meters! The place of obligatory visit is, without a doubt, the Church of St. Mark. Look up and admire the colorful tiles that make up the roof, you have not seen anything like that!

The Lotrscak Tower

Do not be alarmed if you hear a thunderous cannon at 12 o'clock in the morning, it is that from 1877 a cannon is fired from the top of the tower of Lostrscak, in the already-known high city. The bombing marks the noon and has a really curious story, but better if you know it from a local!
