FIRST TIME IN AMSTERDAM: WHAT TO SEE

If you've never seen Amsterdam in your life, prepare yourself to run over museums, markets, colors and cycling. Amsterdam is a city that can really give a lot to a traveler, both cultural point and fun.

What we can advise you, if you only have three days to visit Amsterdam, is definitely to do not miss the Van Gogh Museum, the flower market, Dam Square and the Red Light District.

Then, if you like, a jump in one of the 5 best coffee shop in the city, it would be right to do!

FIRST TIME IN AMSTERDAM: WHAT TO KNOW

Amsterdam is famous for bicycles, so do not miss the opportunity to rent one (even some hostels offer this service) and experience the city as a real Dutch.

Be careful though ... the Dutch whizzing on two wheels!

Another thing to know about Amsterdam and the Dutch, especially if you go for the first time, is that they are very attached to traditions, you will not have trouble finding more than one walking with classic wooden clogs. You think they are uncomfortable? We challenge you to try them!

Another useful information that it is better to know before leaving to Amsterdam regards sockets. Remember to bring an adapter that from 3 plugs becomes to 2, because there aren't 3 plugs sockets in Amsterdam and you would risk, for example, to not being able to charge your PC.

Amsterdam has a large supply of housing, either low cost and not, it also depends on the area that you want to choose.

Keep in mind that the city is not huge and it is easy to explore on foot or by public transport, therefore, don't rule out a hostel or B & B far from the center.

We have compiled for you a ranking of the cheapest hostels in Amsterdam, but if you're more a person who prefers the fun, then you should definitely choose the hostel amongthe most revelers.
