After discovering the 5 Greek islands to visit this summer and knowing the reasons to visit Athens, we have fallen in love with Greece and want to stay longer here. You too? Perfect! Then accompany us to Santorini, we tell you how to enjoy the island without spending too much.

Haven't you packed your bags yet?

See the sunset from the Castle of Oia

If Santorini is famous for something, it is for its magnificent sunsets. Any part of the island would be the perfect place to enjoy the sunset, but if you want to enjoy this magical experience at 100%, we certainly recommend you to see it from the top of the Castle of Oia.

Go up one or two hours before, take with you something to eat and rest from the walk with a picnic with amazing views. Do not forget your camera! Sure you want to take more than one picture.

Jumping from the Amoudi Bay

Without leaving Oia we find stairs that reach as far as Amoudi Bay. You can simply stay there contemplating the beautiful scenery that nature offers you, but if you want a bit of adrenaline, dare to jump into the warm waters of Aegean.

Eat and drink until you can

In Santorini you can find food and drink for cheap. It is common to see sellers wandering the streets of the island with all kinds of typical products. Thus, you can enjoy, for example, a glass of "ouzo" for 1 or 3 euro or a delicious dish of "gyros" for only 2 euro.

Relax on the sandy beaches

After a long walk visiting all the corners of the island, don't forget that in Santorini you need to relax a bit, so nothing better than doing it on one of its many beaches. Although we know that when we say paradise beach you surely think of crystal clear water and sand so white it seems transparent, do not miss the opportunity to visit one with black sand, precious and little frequented.

You can find them in Perissa and Kamari and you can access them for only 2 euro thanks to their K-Tel buses.

Climb the Profitis Ilias

Although the name may not be familiar to you, Profitis Ilias is the highest mountain in Santorini, with a height of 798 meters, and separates the villages of Perissa and Kamari. You cannot leave the island without enjoying the view it offers to you.

Get up early and head to Kamari to start your adventure. Along the way you can stop at the "Zoodochos Pigi" springs, the only fresh water point on the whole island.

WHERE TO SLEEP IN SANTORINI

There are many beautiful hostels in Santorini, so to make things easier, we have selected the ones that we think are the best 3 at the moment: the Anny Studios Perissa Beach, the Fira Backpackers Placeand the Paradise Resort.
