Most staff didn't feel approachable. Didn't really have that "hostel" feel, no sense of community and nobody really interacts with each other. Not enough secure storage space. Fairly cheap and perfect location, but lots of hidden fees. Not enough communal space.

If you run out of time, and you have to find a place to stay immediately, look no further than Hostel Orfeo. They are the most affordable place in the whole of Amsterdam. They are also quite down-to-earth and they will help you however they can.

The room is little bit cold and 1 light in our room is broken. The worst thing is the bad sound insulation which wakes you up in the night...Others are good!

NIE WIEDER IN DIESEM HOSTEL! DON'T EVER BOOK THIS HOSTEL!!!
Wir waren über Sylvester in diesem Hostel. Wir hatten ein Zweier-Zimmer und sind beide durchaus erfahren was Hostels anbelangt.Ich bin es auch gewohnt zelten zu gehen und in Jugendherbergen zu schlafen. Will sagen: wir sind beide nicht besonders pingelig und haben kein Sternehotel erwartet. Aber wir waren extrem enttäuscht vom Hostel Orfeo!!!! Ich kann gar nicht genug zum Ausdruck bringen wie unglaublich heruntergekommen dieses Hostel ist!Ich habe sowas noch nicht gesehen und ich habe schon einiges mitgemacht! Ich rate euch allen ab dort hin zu gehen!!! Die Zimmer sind winzig,im Zimmer hat es nach Urin gerochen, die Betten sind alt und sehr unbequem (meine Freundin musste im Anschluss sogar ins Krankenhaus da sie Rückenschmerzen von dem Bett bekommen hat), für mehr als 15 Personen gab es nur eine total heruntergekommene Toilette und eine Dusche. Insgesamt waren auch die Flure sehr dreckig und die Wände schimmelig. Und dafür 180 € die Nacht ist ja wohl eine OBERFRECHHEIT auch wenn es Sylvester war!!!! Das Frühstück haben wir auf Grund der gesamten hygienischen Lage in dem Hostel lieber ausfallen lassen.
Man muss sagen, dass die Lage top war das Personal sehr nett. Das wars aber auch.

Not good. Dirty, small and stinky. They dont accept credit or debit cards. For one night its ok but only if you have no other choice

Bellissimo ostello, ottima posizione su una via ricca di locali e ristoranti carini in cui poter passare una piacevole serata. Saff molto disponibile e gentile. Locali colorati, forse le stanze e i bagni in stanza sono un po' piccolini, ma accoglienti. Buon rapporto qualità/prezzo. Insomma è stato davvero un bel soggiorno.

if you like restaurants, noisy streets, people around - that's the place to stay in. completly opens the atmosphere of amsterdam (don't forget to read the sign on the door near the enterence)

this was a GREAT location right between downtown and the park, with lots of restaurants close by. we walked to all of the tourists sites and we were fine w/o the metro. also there was good coffeeshops on the canal right around the corner. definitely recommend.

It was not clean enough, smells so bad. Brushes or mops to clean the room were left in the bathroom. Staff was not kind, only it's a place to sleep.

Colazione abbastanza scarsa. Discutibile l'opzione bagno in camera: si tratta di un lavabo con specchio, tutto qua. Sul pianerottolo di accesso alle stanze, trovi una camera da bagno in comune (water e lavabo senza specchio) e un altra camera bagno con la doccia (su 3 notti, una domenica mattina c'è stata la caldaia in blocco). Rapporto qualità prezzo non troppo buono, direi.

Perfect stay to explore the city. There's a warm atmosfere that makes easy to meet people from around the world. The room are clean, while the staff was very helpful when asked for information.

Definetly a place worth staying. Besides the good prices, the hostel is clean and well equipped, as well the staff very friendly. The location is just perfect.

One of the worst rooms ive got in all trips I have made before (4 ppl shared bathrrom for 4 rooms of 4 ppl) ! The room is completely small, like an corridor! The bathroom is disgusting! Besides that, they were smelling shit, and the shower was also ridiculous, they cant even spout water properly!
The only good thing was that It was well localized and they've an basic breakfast!

Such a great place! Been here twice now, and so happy we ended up here. The toilet smelled awful but apart from that we had a great time - the position couldn't be better, fantastic, cheap restaurants and bars and the cinema very close by, plus the museums only a stone's throw!

Bedroom was fine (though we could have done with a ladder to the top bunk!), linen all very clean, towel hire a definite plus. Toilet was a bit sketchy but the shower was good! The location is fantastic, absolutely great, and we'll be returning happily next week!

Eu achei mto bom o atendimento, a localizao é otima!
levando-se em consideracao q vc divide o quarto com 6 pessoas, o banheiro é limpo e o quarto tb. Eu recomendo!

El hostal es muy bueno: limpio, personal muy educado, agradable y simpático. Ubicación céntrica y desayuno ok. Pero el baño es muy pequeño y hay que compartirlo con mínimo 4 personas más. La ducha tampoco es muy buena, muy flojita. De todas maneras, es muy recomendable.

La situacion del hotel es muy buena, el personal tambien, la unica pega los baños que estan un poco sucios,no tienes toallas y no se puede fumar dentro.

the guy at the reception give a lot of information about the nightlife, place to see and all what do you ask ..very useful..a good place near the places of nightlife and at ten minute to the dam place

ostello veramente pulito anche se l'aaredamento è un po minimale ma va benissimo cosi! inoltre è in una zona piena di locali e discoteche e cofee shop molto meglio del red light district!

La posizione è perfetta, forse nel miglior quartiere di amsterdam. Il posto è piccolo e adatto a chi vuole vivere la città e cerca un ostello solo x dormirci la notte.

Wir fanden es super dort, Zimmer und Betten ok. Aber die Sauberkeit war nicht so wirklich prächtig. Jede Tür hat so laut gequietscht, dass man oft fast aus dem Bett gefallen ist vor Schreck.

VERY RECOMMENDABLE!
It's situated in the restaurant and bar quarter of the city, which is very suitable. The common room/breakfast room is really nice and there are two computers with free internet. The rooms are nice and clean and some open to the fire escape ladder which is kind of a balcony =) Bedding is included; there's 5 rooms and one toilet and one shower per floor, which actually works out quite fine. Only the shower on our floor didn't really work. So in general i can really recommend the hostel, only the shower is not quite suited for washing your hair...

El hostal está bien situado y el personal es amable.Rodeado de coffeshops, bares y restaurantes Desayuno:tostadas, huevos,queso,mermelada,nocilla,zumo y cafe.Sala d estar acogedora.Lo unico malo es que esperabamos dos camas y resulta que hasta en las privadas son literas... colchones al suelo y a sobar
