It had a great value for the money, nice staff and good breakfast! It was easy to go to the old city and to more local areas. Mold problems in the houses of Havanna are common, our room had a really bad smell och mould that got stuck in our clothes after spending 2 nights at the hostel. I can't recommend the place if you are sensitive to mould. There was no soap on the toilets, so be prepared to use your own - this is also a common thing all around in Cuba.

Very hospitable place with helpful and friendly staff. The hostel is well located and is a great option for traveling on a tight budget with small rooms of 4 beds as their best option. Always clean, tidy and ready to help you with anything including accommodating my travelling bicycle. During my stay I noticed that guests were coming back to Robles Hostel after their travelling throughout Cuba so I guess that's significant.

The hostel is a long walk along rough streets from the city centre. My room had no window, tiny bathroom, no lockers. Overall, cheap but not very nice. I moved to a better place in the parallel street, San Miguel.

Service and the room is ok for its price. But the male boss is dishonest. I had confirmed with the price for taxi to the airport for 20. When the taxi arrived, price became 30, 25. You did a good business

The family asked for more money than advertised, and overcharged for an airport taxi for a comission. The family do not speak any English and I found them very hostile/unfriendly as my Spanish was only passable. Water was completely out several times but the other guests made my stay memorable.

My friend and I (both girls) booked a 4-bed dorm for females only using this website.
When we got there they said we hadn't book any room. After waiting almost an hour sitting there, they said one could sleep in the males room and the other one in the females room.
they were the most unpleasant people I have ever met. Not nice or helpful AT ALL. very very very rude.
The door was locked most of the time so you have to knock multiple times and wait (once 10 minutes while it was raining) outside.
they came to our room every day at 7-7:30am to clean the bathroom making A LOT of noise that would wake us up.
At the end of our stay, they wanted to charge us more, even though we had already paid 10%. After they agreed with us not paying the 10%, they converted the EUR money to CUC the rate they wanted and in the end charged us more anyway (about 3$ more, which is not that much, but it's still unnecessary).
I wouldn't go back there. I was actually in Havana again after I did some travelling in Cuba and went to a different hostel.

I strongly recommend to get a breakfast (for only $3 you have a very rich and delicious breakfast). The building is nice, not very well situated (30mn walk away from the center) but the price is very cheap. The staff is not particulary nice, but they are competent and efficient. I recommend this hostel

Stay here if you're on a budget. It may not be clean, comfortable or conveniently located, but it is cheap so you can spend your money enjoying Cuban life.

Very cheap, quite close to the city centre - 20 min walking. Quite secure=no keys of the room at all, hot water in the shower, water to drink is provided by the owner. Close to the hostel there is no place to eat. Air condition in the room is very strong if needed.

This was one of the best hostels I've stayed at! The staff was super friendly and helpful (if you spoke any Spanish -- even minimal), and everyone staying here was respectful and friendly! I strongly recommend this place! Great value for the experience I had!

The hostal ist more than 25 minuts walk far from Havana vieja. But it is quiet, save and a very cheap place, if xou travel alone. Two peolpe can find a doubleroom in a privatehouse cheaper with a litle kichen.
Most of the rooms don´t have a window to the outside, but the aircondition is ok.

Staff speaks only Spanish and they were often checking us,not in a goog way.we couldn't cook without their assistance and when I was wigh my girlfriend in bedroom(for 8 people) someone always had come,takeout trash,turn on aircondition...

Th hostel is clean and the beds are comfortable. The staff speaks only spanish, however, so bring your translator. They serve breakfast and dinner for extra money, but it is reasonably priced and I was told it was very good. You have to order in advance. The hostel is a good distance from the old section of Havana and from most amenities. There is a park a block away to get internet reception. Overall, a good place to stay if you are willing to walk a lot.

The hostel is clean but a bit old. They do not have a good booking organisation. I booked a female dorm but the dorm is mixed dorm. I booked 3 days, the 3rd day they let the room to a group of 4 and they didn't notice I am still here!
Finally they move me to their neighbour, the house is great and the family of the neighbour is great
The location is in central Havana, it's a bit old in district, but a straight road to the main road and old town. Not difficult to get in the town on foot. And just 15 mins can walk to the wifi area

Cleanliness perfect, staff friendly but mainly spanish-speaking (not a big problem), little far from touristic places (but bus stop was close enough). Price is little rounded up (my fault that I did not argue).

Great hostel! Helpful staff, very clean rooms, nice breakfast. It's a 20 minute walk to Old Havana but the hostel is in Center Havana which means you get to experience everyday Cuban life. There is a good atmosphere at the hostel, it is ready to meet and talk with other travelers. Really enjoyed my stay!

Travelling cuba on limited Spanish. Booked this place because I thought someone could at least speak basic English to somehow communicate with each other, not the case at all. It's at least a 30 minute walk to centro/old havana. We had to move rooms twice. It's clean and has air con that's about it for me.

Cuba is still trying to get their act in order. The house is nice, fairly clean. Location is okay. It's about 15 blocks from the Old Havana, about 30 mins walking. The staff can sometimes be off putting, but overall nice

Very cheap, good location, comfy chilled rooms and free water. The cleaning lady is incredibly rude but the owners are lovely. They also have a good kitchen. Reccomend for a budget stay.

Very clean. Staff speak no English, so make sure you can say at least a few words in Spanish. One of the people who own it stays up until all hours watching action movies (loudly), so if you're on the ground floor it really sucks. Around 20-30 minute walk from any touristy sites and restaurants, but markets and a convenience store are near by. I suggest using the upstairs washroom as it's cleaner and a little larger.

Unfortunately there's no internet in the hostel despite what was mentioned in the ad (even with an extra cost), but the staff is really friendly, and the place is clean overall.No breakfast is included in case this would not be mentioned in the ad.

The staff could not be more unfriendly at this hostel. They did not speak a word of English and made no attempt to make one feel welcome or assist in any way. If in the 2x mixed dorms, all 10 people share one bathroom (shower and toilet.) The bathroom in the female dorm stank of sewerage. Rooms + bedding were clean, the price was right but that was about all that they got right.

Nice hostel very well-located in Centro Habana - which makes it walking-distance friendly to go eith to Habana Vieja, the Malecon and the Vedado neighbourhood. The rooms in the back are very quiet, the staff is constantly cleaning the bathrooms and the floor and the hostel was providing CLEAN BOILED COLD WATER FOR FREE.

It's a nice/cheap place to stay (You have total access to the kitchen). 15-20min walk from Old Havana. The stuff was very kind and friendly. Definitely recommended.

There was no soap n the bathroom. There is also only one toilet / bathroom between at least 12 people so often had to wait a long time. When I asked the staff to organise another Casa Particulares in another town, the staff just pointed to another guest who had been there for a months and told me I should extend my stay, This is completely unacceptable, and is not what happens in the casa's in Cuba

We are so sorry for that situation. We will try to solve those problems. However, about organisation in other hostal you should say it before, because the country is full due to is high season for the tourism and is very difficult to get some hostal.

In addition to being clean and confortable, HOSTAL ROBLES is the unique during our trip that we paid for the bed instead for the whole room, allowing us to pay very little. The staff is very nice and friendly.

Overall a very positive experience. The staff were very helpful (although they don't speak English), willing to give much information on the neighbourhood. The breakfast was also great. The location is good, not too far at all from the city centre but it is a moderately long walk.
