I really reccomend this place only if you stay in a room with a few just a few other guests.

Due to poor ventilation, the smell in the morning, or at night can be really disgusting inside the room.

Please stay with just few people in the same room.

- however, the staff is really kind and willing to help-

It's a really nice hostel, bathrooms are really clean and the staff is always nice and looking forward to give you a good experience. The only thing not so good is that the room was a little bit too hot (doesn't haver aircon).

This was a great hostel. Met some great people, there is ample space, it's in a trendy part of Florence, very close to everything but in a more local are with lots of bars, cafes, local restaurants... There rooms were a little hot even though there were lots of fans. But I still slept well. Lovely experience overall.

I think the hostel is great. It's very nice and Central located. You can reach most attractions in 10 to 15 minutes by foot. Directly next to the hostel is a supermarket which I really like to recommend for its cheap and good food.

The only thing we didn't liked is that there were just two plug ins in a 22 beded rroom.

But there is the possibility to charge your phone at the reception.

So lovely. Really friendly.

I enjoyed a lot my holyday in Firenze also because thanks to this hostel I met so many people from all over the world. and also the hostel was nice, a good structure and position and there is everything you need. it was only a bit hot in the rooms but apart of that I give a good evaluation.

Great place to stay. Clean beds, friendly staff. Only downfall was that my lock did not fot the lockers.

Good location, walkable distance from city centre, supermarket is just next door,and as such I did not face any problem as a bag packer. One thing please repair the kitchen stove, and I hope you will do it. Thank you.

We loved our stay here! Very large, fridges to keep food in, kitchen, laundrey across the street, wifi, very clean room and bathrooms, and very quiet!! Located in a cute neighborhood across the river, with plenty of little shops for food, good restaurants in piazza s. spirito nearby, and coffee shops, clean sheets and towels.

Great hostel, lot of useful features, such a city maps, informations about events, safe deposit, possibility to load electronic devices, computer access, kitchen - just great place to stay in Florence. Perfect position, too, very close to the city center

Staff is nice, hostel is big and in a good place. BUT it's definitely far away from being perfect, especially for it's price and: 1)stupid rule that you need to leave the place between 10am and 14. It's totally weird. What if you will feel bad or tired? It's the worst thing that anyone has ever invented. 2) there's no soap in the restroom 3) it was really cold, because heaters don't work all of the time 4) it's easy to see that staff wants to save money in every way: for 16 beds there is only one electrical outlet (if it's good word, anyway you know what i mean). They told us that if we want to charge something we can always ask them to do this... so mabye we should take mobile phones from 20 people and try to do this... In general, i like this hostel but this few things is really frustrating. They really can't change it?

The hostel was clean and tidy and not very busy at this time of the year (December) so I had a whole room to myself which I enjoyed after traveling for so long. It is a walk to the train station but it's not very far if you can carry your stuff on your back and I liked the walk each day into and around town. I think the fun factor/atmosphere is subjective and because I like quiet I loved it here so I also came back the following week.

It's ok.. there.. the Kitchen and the showers were dirty...

I liked it except for the narrow space in the room.I realised too late that there was bycicle rent as well.etc.

Great location, perfect if you're stopping in Florence for the weekend and just need a place to crash.

The hostel is located far from the sights, but a good location for the cost. Bedrooms can be cold, and all beds are bunked. The lockers are small and the bathrooms can be far from the rooms.

Great location less than five minutes walk from Firenze smn, there is a market along the walk. Clean, reasonable rates. The only bummer is that the common area closes at midnight and the stove was out of order. Shower is in private room which is a plus when showering but a minus when waiting for the bathroom while someone else is showering. Water was hot and staff friendly.

OMG...the climb up the stairs to get to your room with your luggage is HORRIBLE! The rooms were nothing special and hot as there was no A/C. The staff is VERY nice. It is too bad that the people staying there made such a mess of the (limited) kitchen. There was only 2 small cooking areas and you had to wait a while if you wanted to make something. Personally, I would not stay there again. There were no activities for fun.

The stuff is very friendly and nice. The room and the bath were clean. Good choose if you need place for sleep. From fun you will find only your neighbours and 2PC with internet.

This is a common hostel, the room is clean, and the staff is OK, but there is one thing that at night it's too noisy even we close the door.

Well positioned, we just walked from the train station to it. There is a a gorgeous ice cream place few streets away and a mini market and pastry place. Staff very welcoming and bathroom fascilities are fine. There is a toilet in a separate bit and 2 showers. Would visit again

Good location tho' directions could be clearer. Not young so 'fun' not important, however a little more smiling from staff may help. Very basic kitchen area. Liked the opera singing!!

The shower and the bathroom could have been cleaner, and the fact that you have to be in by 02:00 am was a bit shitty. But in the end it is a very pleasant hostel in the middle of the centre for a very pleasant price!

It is a very good hostel. The location is perfect, just go ove the bridge and you are close to everything.

The staff is very friendly and helpful.

They have a fridge, a stove and free internet. It is perfect.

High standard I expect from IYH. Winter (low season) may have played a part in high rating I gave this hostel, but I would return. Great location in relation to centre and rail station. Just some difficulty finding street and signs.

I found the hostel good and in reasonable price, as far as staff is concerned, is very cooperative and decent, cleanliness is good but not excellent in case of toilets, I have been in youth hostels in Genova and verona as compared to those only thing which is extra there is breakfast, they provide free breakfast to the customers, rest of the facilities are comparatively similar, so as a whole hostel is good, only needs attention in case of toilets cleanliness and if free breakfast can be provided thanks

Very good localization, 5 minuts walking to the centre!

the facilities were great, really intended for travelers. kitchen for guests, but no fridge. laundry for 6 euros or so, rather gruff staff though. excellent location, couldn't be better. luggage storage VERY insecure. no breakfast. i would stay here again.

Loved this hostel! Was the best I stayed in in Firenze. Common area and kitchen are a big plus! Supermarkt is just next door. Luca (from the reception) was so nice! He will really help you with anything. Would definately recommend this en would stay here again!

I've been staying at Santa Monaca 4 times during the last 5 years, because I know they always provide good service and nice, clean rooms. The location in an Italian neighborhood is perfect if you want to see more of Florence than just the usual tourist areas - still, it's only a 5 min walk to the center. I can highly recommend this place. Only minus is the 2am curfew.

Very good hostel, well located in Florence. The staff was nice, and there are many services : internet acces, kitchen, etc... for a very good price !

One of the best hostels I have ever been. Situated in the meaddle of "centro storico" of Florence it is really easy to find and practical if you want to turn back late at night. The staff is really nice and the place so clean.
