Ivanhoe Hostel

Great hostel! Was a little noisy somenights but otherwise excellent!

There were problems with our booking which was not very satisfying. luckily we got some beds but not in the same room as we had booked. Not the best start of the stay late at night in Rome. And the last morning my towel was gone and used to sweap the floor - another disappointing episode to our stay...

Staff is a lot of fun. Free punch or pasta every night.

Its a party hostel, nice staff, clean and conveniently located, near to the subway and to Termini station.

I have such a good time here.

Very nice location just around the corner from Colosseum in between the main train station and the old city centre.

The staff is supernice although their choices of bad music with great volume can be a bit annoying when you arrive home early night after a long days walk.

Pretty good youth hostel with nice staff. Good location. The rooms are thronged with people from all over the world.

Nice hostel between trainstation and city center (ca. 10-15 min walking distance to each). Nice neighborhood with shops, restaurants and cafes beside the really touristic area. Nice stuff. No point of criticism.

Friendly staff and good vaLUE FOR MONEY

Condition of the hostel is really bad, everything was breaking down. In my bathroom there were no glass on the window so it was freezing in the morning. If you visit Rome in summer time that might be not a problem but in winter it is. There was also lock down 11 am till 4 pm when you didn't have access to your room because of cleaning and so on. Also if you want to get to sleep before 12, that's not your place because of the loud music. Positive sides were the friendly staff and good location near metro, Colosseum and railwaystation.

The staff we're really quite lovely and very accomodating.

The location is good, the bed is decent and the bathrooms are clean. As for staff, they never bothered to say hello to me, but I'm sure that changes if you're a pretty girl..

Great staff, really friendly and fantastic location. Loads of free drinks and free food and great place to meet people. Just had my 21st birthday here and it was incredible, free prosecco on the house! Grazie mille. Mi scuzi!

Great Hostel, pretty close to the Termini Station. Has a Metro station one minute away by foot. Also, near the central part of the city so near the Colosseum and other tourist attractions. Air-conditioning is good.

This hostel is just a disaster! I booked 8 beds in a 10 beds room more then a month before our trip with one more additional bed later. However when we arrived, they told us they don't have that room and split us into one 6 beds room and 3 more beds in another room. They said as there is toilet in the 6 beds room so no price reduce for their mistake and inconvenient. Actually we dont want to accept that but we have no choice. However later we discover the so called toilet was all broken! Broken door for shower place, no water to flush and the poor little sink stucked too! And water started to come out and flood our room the next morning. The room is poorly lit with just one dim light. The air conditioner was broken down also and the room has no window and so stuffy! The place is small and not clean as well! The so called function, like free dinner party was just so so. People have no place to gather but all squeezed in the corridor and blocking the doors of the bedrooms. Later we figure out that the room was originally occupied by others but they had complained and changed to our 10 beds room. So we are forced to take this room! The whole thing is unacceptable and we think it's going to shut down if things go on like this.

If you're gonna stay there take your own pillowcases, they don't offer this.

This hostel is the worst ever. My bed was taken by another guest while I was out (Staff mistakenly told him that my bed was his bed.) No compensation did I received. My towel was also lost while new person took over my place. Very noisy hostel.

If you can avoid it, don´t stay there!

It has no Hostel atmosphere, the staff is not very motivated to help you and they don´t even have covers for the blankets!

The room was verry small, you must go and live on your backage. Every day music until 12 o`clock. You can not stay in your room or hostel from 11 to 4 o´clock. The bed was okay, also the WC.

There are very good staffs.

Everything is fantastic, the staff is so nice and they prepare things to do every night for all the guests like dinners and free drinks. 2€ for a really good breakfast so it's good to have it there. You have to know that in any hotel in town (Rome) there is a tourist tax that is 2€ par night. I really suggest Ivanhoe even though the toilet is not that good and water wasn't always hot, it's well located, really fun for young people and nice owners.

I stayed at Ivanhoe Hostel for five days with my four friend. Ivanhoe Hostel is at the heart of the Rome. You can walk everywhere by walking. The hostel is a bit small, dont have garden, its like a flat, have good kitchen that you can fınd everything there.

The servıces are very nıce, very kınd to you, helpfull, spagetti every evenıng free. Hot water ıs problem a bıt, sometımes you can fınd hotwater but sometımes you couldnt. If I go to the Rome agaın I prefer Ivanhoe agaın. M.Burak Ceran, SElcuk Unıversıty, Turkıye

There was a flooding in the room when it was raining outside. And the room is too small. Not a wise choice to stay with this hostel.

This is really a party hostel, if you want to meet other people and have fun you have to come here. It is also very cheap and in a very good position. If you want to go bed early you cannot!people do party since about midnight.

It really is a party hostel, very very very loud. Too loud sometimes. But it all ends at midnight, so you can party and get to sleep fairly early if you want to. Good location. Good hostel overall. The only BIG negative comment: please, put keys/locks on doors! It is really unsafe!

It is the worst hostel! do not go. Dirty, the common room is a hallway, the kitchen can not be used ever, they put a sheet covering the mattress and cover your pillow and give you a cushion of feathers smelling used.

And the worst is that from 11am to 4pm they kick you out to do the "cleaning".

Es el peor hostel! no vayan. Sucio, la sala común es un pasillo, la cocina no se puede usar nunca, te ponen una sábana que cubre el colchón y la almohada y para taparte te dan un acolchado de plumas con olor a usado.

Y lo peor es que de 11 am a 4 pm te echan para hacer la supuesta "limpieza".

Very well located. Walking distance to the main attractions in Rome. The place is clean, but a bit small and noisy. If you don't like parties or if you're looking for a quiet place, you shouldn't choose this hostel. The staff is helpful when you ask for something, but they look like they're having a bad day - every day! The atmosphere is good and if you're sociable you have the chance to know people from all around the world.

great place to meet new people and go party together, not so good for people who like to sleep a lot coz its not a quiet place for sure, but i like that

This is an old hostel, full of funghus in the bathroom. is realy humid inside the bedrooms so people were coughing all night in the dormitory.

the conditions are kind of strange there. if you complain they manage to get you what you need but if you dont say anything you will not get the best conditions. The locker in the bedrooms are realy small.

the staff in general is not very polite, but there´s one member of the staff (i think it´s the owner of the hostel) that did everything he could to help me and my friends.

i think it´s an exepensive hostel for the conditions...but considering it´s rome and evvetything it´s expensive..i guess i wont get better for less than 20 eur a night.

The location is quite good. I went to all the places by foot. but the metro is realy close as well.

this place is realy good and it has also good location. it's not so big hostel but that's also good because that cause good friendships and i had a lots of friend at there although i had just 2 days.. if i go to rome again, i'm sure i'll stay at there :)

This is the best Hotel I ever stayed in; very nice staff, excellent location very close to Colloseum and not expensive. Nice showers and good beds. I had a great stay and will definetely come back some time.

This place was fun because you can meet a lot of people your age... they also give you free internet access which is a plus. but it's a little cold and the bathrooms are not the cleanest. also they kick you out from 11 to 4

The hostel is very good for the price, because it's in a very good place.

If you like to know new people is great for you.

The staf is friendly.

If you need a towel to take a bath, you have to rent one. A Towel is 2euros.

Due to "municipal inspections," we were kicked out every morning at 7:30 and not allowed back until 4 that afternoon. Made up for it (kind of) by having free cocktails/breakfast but it made for exhausting days. Cancelled my last three nights and made side trip to Naples so I could get some sleep.

Great hostel to stay in Rome, strategic location, comfortable bed and very nice staff.

loud loud loud at night if u r not goin to party at the hostels plz do not book this hostel coz they have a party till 12,oo it was toltaly loud if u r not out going people enough pz not book this also;)the good thing is the location 5 min to colosium there r nice restaurant around
