The receptionist barely spoke english, was hard to understand and rude. Extremely dirty bathroom and kitchen plus it was difficult to cook there. Only could pay in cash or via PayPal (he didn’t know how that works). We were focussed on leaving asap!

The female dorm has no window and therefore it is a bit difficult to sleep with multiple people in there and get enough air. Also you can’t lock the doors. We didn’t feel safe and decided to not spend the night there. The common place is right next to the „reception“ and feels a bit crammed.

Awful place. Smell was terrible and the room was dirty. We even had windows in our room (some people hadn't), but the view was on slums (People in the opposote flats were very poor). Neigbourhood is full of homeless People. In reservation, there was info about free breakfast, that of course wasn't there.

Very heartful place, friendly service, good quality for price. Ask for backyard room, since it is located at a noisy street.

Great location near the train station. Hostel is a bit crowded but good value for staying in Rome for 1 or 2 nights.

This was my last-minute reservation because of certain circumstances, and I couldn't expect much. The experience was fine, but I can't rate this B&B high. The location is not so far from Colosseum, I like walking and some 20 minutes by foot is not a problem at all. But the location... it could have been a nice place, but it's not, and Walter is not guilty of it, of course :) Termini, though convenient due to nearby train and bus stations, is not a trouble-free district with some suspicious people around and malodorous public garden. You can find some cheap food around, but there're many people you can get scared of, they look like thieves and some of them probably are. What about the guest house, the staff is grumpy, and it seems they want money for every advice. The breakfast is usual, and the room I've been with my boyfriend is a funny story. We couldn't help laughing when they were transforming "a more expensive room" into a cheaper one for us, lol. A big bed with a red coverlet turned into two small beds in different corners of the room. They said two more people will stay with us and they didn’t come, which was a pleasant surprise ‘cause the room became private instead of shared. While every hostel should have its own face and temperament, I didn’t like the general atmosphere, it didn’t evoke emotions – so I was neither disappointed nor excited.

The stay is not at the same place with reception, you will need to walk to another block. Breakfast, coffee machine is included. Shower water will accumulate, drain stuck

A good location, safe area. Easy walking to and from station and local sites. Bedrooms clean and tidy. Staff reasonably friendly. Would recommend as one of the cheapest sleeps in Rome!

The room we stayed in was nice, but it was not at the address it was meant to be. Upon arrival, we had to follow another man for about 10 minutes with our luggage to get to the location of our room. Staff was not very friendly, although they did improve with time of stay. Convenient to have breakfast included and a location near the bus terminal, but not recommended overall due to lack of staff understanding and care.

A good location, safe area. Easy walking to and from station and local sites.

Bedrooms clean and tidy but bathroom could do with a spring clean.

Staff reasonably friendly.

Would recommend as one of the cheapest sleeps in Rome!

the worst hostel ever !!! they stole us 100 euros from the "Lockers", the reception guy is a complete asshole everything was bad is the hostel, NO AIR CONDITIONER, no nothing, even after they said so in their page and photos !!!! NOT RECOMENDED !!! is good located, but believe me its better sleep on the streets !!!
The owner's reply
Completely false comment!! Theese 2 boys mistaked the reservation because they reserved 2 beds in ladies room ,because the special cheap offer may be, so we needed to cancel the reservation and we had to accommodate them in another hostel for the boys room .At first they paied in full 3 nights but 2 nights they demanded to cancel the last night on 3 reserved ,but they asked it only too late the second night stay ,while is possible to cancel or modifie it only untill 48 hours before the arrival.

Good breakfast, helpful staff, and close to the main train station. my only complaints are that there is not a proper sign outside so guests have to be careful not to miss it and look for the street number (75). I stayed in room one and in the mornings during breakfast the coffee and orange juice machine is very loud. There is also no common room to sit in besides the office if your roommates are sleeping. Very good for a weekend stay!!

Walter's Guest House left a rather odd impression overall. The staff was friendly and the hostel was situated central, the accommodation itself could've been better though. Especially disturbing was the bathroom in the room (with a window looking into the room) which made it impossible not to wake fellow travellers up when returning late and wasn't the most convenient in general. As well the staff would come into the room several times every morning (at around 9:30) which was a bit odd. The kitchen was dirty and the WiFi didn't work at all in the rooms.

Staff is very kind, but the hostel is expensive for what it is, we felt a bit frightened of the zone, but it was near to important places in Rome!

The place was clean, and when we arrived they provided us clean towels. The breakfast is good. It is well situated, near Termini and other subway stations.

The only problem is that we booked 2 nights in a 4-bed-room, but when we arrived the room was not available, so we had to sleep in a 6-bed-room both nights.

We were in a cramped room (bunk bed and single bed) with barely enough space for 3 suitcases. The staff was wonderful and helped resolve issues between guests. The breakfast was not much. I recommend!!

This hostel is located next to the Termini station, what make the things easy for the luggage point of view. In other hand it's far from the center what is not a problem since there is a red line metro station Vittorio Emanuele. The place did have the best cleanliness. Nice breakfast with toasted bread, nutella, cereal, milk, coffed and so on!! Gentle and patience staff!! Very good in the term of cost-benefit!!!

Walter Guest House is a good solution for low-budget travellers. I liked the place. It contains more several hostels, but close to each other, so it can happen that you will have to sleep in an other house. But it's not that bad.

The staff was nice and you get a breakfast and coffe for this price as well, I think, it's correct!

If you're a young person looking for a cheap room, then this is it. This place was recommended to me by a friend, but I think I'm too old for this kind of hotel. I would have rather paid more money for a cleaner, nicer room. I found hairs on the sheets, and when I went to wash my face, the soap wouldn't lather with the water. Also, in general, the bathroom wasn't very clean. I couldn't bring myself to shower there. But the staff were very sweet and helpful. And the location is good.

Excellent position for visiting Rome city centre. The Guest House is simple and unpretentious however, the staff is friendly and the accommodation clean. To sum up, it is very recommended.

I stayed there for three nights. Good position (metro is right behind the building), cheap, clean enough and free breakfast. The guy at the counter was rude to my friend and I but the lady in the women's bed room was pretty nice. I would recommend as a cheap solution in Rome.

before we could enter the stated property, 2 men (not italian) came and immediately took our baggage and said that our room wasn't in that building. It felt quite dodgy as we did not even know where we were taken to. we were brought to another building and the rooms were not ready. the entire initial experience was scary but after settling down, (and thank god there were other girls around)it wasnt so bad. dont have a high expectation and any expectation of ur typical hostel! other than that, the toilets are clean and there were plenty of breakfast. no wifi in the rooms and the common area is very tiny, can only seat 3 person at a time. good location which is near to termini.

I booked a bed for 1 night and it was supposed to include breakfast, wifi and other services, but it tourned out to be an exceptional offer and I had to pay 3€ if I wanted to have them. I didn't pay, and I think that it isn't worth it. I wouldn't pay more than 8€ for a bed in this place because you must pay 2 more euros for the reservation and 2 more per night for the city taxes. Result: 12€ for a non very comfortable bed without the promised services.

Stayed for a week in the 2nd building. Shalik was very helpful, friendly and nice to talk to. He did our laundry (there was a lot) for just 5 euros. Also I left my jumper in the room when we checked out and they were quick to respond and I collected it the next day. Breakfast is good, nice tea and coffee. Location is perfect (central, plenty of shops, cafes and 1 minute walk to metro A)

The place needs to be clean on the daily basis, I don´t think I ever saw someone cleaning!

The room in the middle of the hallway is the worst because plp are always walking through talking, drinking, fighting etc and it is very hard to sleep there.
