Hotel Giovannina *

A freaking hot ever whole night. Wifi was so slow or seems like had a cut off at midnight. Very dated and toilet bowl was old and dirty. I’m not going back there.

Hostel was cheap and located in a good place, very close to a bus and a train station. Unfortunately room needed renovation. There was a window broken, heeating system hadly worked. It was very cold in the room. Only one working electric socket was in a bathroom.

The room had no hot water bed uncomfortable other than location the place was a nightmare.

Hotel Giovannina Venice Meagre has the best location as far as my opinion is concerned. I can't believe it's just a short 15 minute train ride to Venice Island! For just 1.25 Euro per ride, you can't best that. I heard the bus is even cheaper. For the price of a bed in a 4 bed dorm room, I have not much complaint the bed is surprisingly comfortable. The drawback is no elevator. I wa s at the 3srd floor.

I was very happy to stay in Hotel Giovannina for my trip to Venice. The receptionists were very friendly and helpful, the room was clean and it is located close to the bus stop as well as the Mestre train station, around 5 minutes walking and 10 minutes by bus to reach Venice.

Its convenient if you don't want to stay in Venice.

Had taken a family room for 3 nights.Ensuite bath room/shower case was very small & in very bad shape. Other than this, it is good value for money,for a budget stay.

What a great deal for a hotel that accepts late night arrivals, so close to the station. And what a pleasant neighbourhood, with a well stocked supermarket only a block away. Would stay here again.

I really can't say any thing bad about the place. And the guy at the reception was nice and helpful. We staid 1 night but I would come back :) thank you for the hospitality

Sadly gone very seedy since I used Hotel Giovannina (99 and 01) . Sink that couldn't be used; lock that required much fiddling to work; lights that didn't work; cigarette burns on many surfaces. I remember a low-priced but adequate (with tv!!) and clean Italian place for a night or two. But it's run on cheap Indian/Asian lines now: minimal investment/maximum take. A few Euro more can get you much better nearby.

Great place. Not a palace, but that's not why you book a place like this.

There is a grocery close by but don't buy anything perishable, no kitchen/fridge/utensils. The room I stayed in was alright. The shower was extremely small, had no room to bend down to get shampoo (I'm 5'4). The location was close to the train station and a 15 min bus ride to island of Venice. Only other thing was the mattress smelt horrid.

This was a very pleasant stay. It was cheap and the staff was friendly.

My room had black mold growing on the wall, floor that had buckled at the entrance (due to water damage?) and a shower that was intermittently freezing and scalding. The staff were not friendly, not particularly accommodating, and the location requires a 15 minute train ride into Venice every day. I do no recommend this location, and would urge visitors to at least attempt to find another one before settling for this.

Washbasin was leaking in room,wardrobe door was spoiled, common bathroom was dirty

The worst hostel ever. I don't recommend anyone to stay here. The staff are very rude. It is extremely hot during summer with only one fan in the room. The toilets are super small, it is even hard to take a shower.

They changed my room 3 times just in 3 days as if I was a toy and he was sending to different room whenever he wanted to. Really bad hotel. It is far from being called a hotel. 1 star no more

Personal didn't speak well english, not good signals, only one key for all the people in the room, bath door broken, no accept credit card at the place (I would not have give mine anyway,not trusty), the area is bad, full of weird people at night, not recommended, the price seems cheap, but for what they give is not worth it

This hostel located in a very good place, near the train station, the last before reaching venice. During our arrival, the hotel staff was not so friendly, while we were asking about how to reach venice. It was summer and the room was so hot. In our room, we also found cockroach.

I had a bad experience at the hotel Giovannina since, as I was registering, someone who was queing, took a vallet( where there was ID money, driving license, car papers etc...)in a bag that was next tu us!

So we had to go to the police station, ans started very badly our stay in Venice!

Very close to the trainstation on the mainland, clean but old with small rooms and tiny bathroom. cheap for the location and good for 1-2 nights.

Acceptable with the price. Attention, there is no air conditioner :)

It was a very clean hostal even though the location is not the best. You have to take a bus to ancient Venice.

The location is good in the sense it is close to the train staion and direct to join venice.

Otherwise the place itself is not that clean, a lot of broken things in the room (cupboard, window), and the staff not particularly nice.

All that wouldn't be a problem if it were really cheap, but the thing is it is not that cheap...

I asked the receoptionist to call a taxi for me to take my family to the airport Treviso but the driver took me to the Marc Polo. i was about to miss the flight. Terrible

Wifi is very slow, poor cleanliness, shared bathroom is not so clean and the lock is broken. Unpleasant smell

Worst hostel Ive ever been to. The price is good but the Hostel in general is horrible. Poor cleaning. Only one key for a 5 bed dorm. No lockers, terrible wifi. They dont even have an elevator. The staff is unhelpful, unpolite and unwelcoming. Dont go in there.

In a sketchy part of the neighborhood. But it is very close to the train station and bus stop which was really nice. My room smelled pretty bad though.

The room was very cold,bathroom and wc was very little.the blanket was very dirty.staff ' s didn't have responisibility to manage problems!

The location is fine, the hotel is really close to the train and bus stations. However, the quality is quite low, there is no luggage room, the walls in the room were mouldy, the bathroom is dirty, and you can hear everything since the walls are so thin. It doesn't worth the money, we only slept there because it was our last chance.

I would recommend this hotel to all people who want to save some money- the standard and cleanliness is not the best, but location is perfect.

The worst place I ever slept. Bad smell in every place, the guy from reception looks like if somebody was shooting him. Doesnt have enought internet, only in reception zone. And it's not so cheap.

dislikes:specific smell of the bedspreads,no bedside tables

heaters donot work , no facities except a bed to sleep not even soap available.

staff is very friendly, they help me print some paper without money.

Howerver, the sound isolation is not really good. I think hotel manager can improve it in the near future, in order to help us have better sleep.

The hostel is VERY WELL located, really close to Mestre Stazione. Room was okay and I had wi-fi connection inside it, though the receptionist said it wouldn't work anywhere besides the lobby.

I recommend it for people who is looking for a cheap/comfortable bed and not a sophisticated place!

The only complaining I have is about the receptionists working there, they are really untutored!!
