Nuova Locanda Belvedere *

I warned host that the extreme flooding in Venice coupled with my injured foot and inability to carry heavy suitcase thru floodwaters will prevent my stay. I ask for refund of 1 night, not both nights. I got no reply at all. I thought this was reasonable.

We really enjoyed our stay in the Belvedere hostel. Its a perfect venue for a cheap visit to Venice, because of really good public transport connections. The hostel is a bit old, but rooms and showers are perfectly fine. However, the restaurant/bar is not available anymore in contrary to the information provided online. Which wasn’t a problem for us. The staff is as friendly as it can get. I would recommend this hostel 100%.

Very clean and nice people

It's a great hostel. It is very clean and tidy, has a welcoming and helpful Staff. I had a very great time staying at the Nuova Locanda Belvedere!!

Friendly staff, good value for money. However, not luxorius: no kitchen, no continental breakfast and no lockers in the dormitories. However, I would definitely book this hostel again: there was a nice atmosphere. The manager was very helpful and explained the best and cheapest ways to get to Venice as well as giving tips on must-see attractions.

Basic accommodation. Dorms are nice and clean. Beds and pillows are ok. GREAT location. Good quality/price ratio for Venice. Only downside : the staff clearly doesn't care and can be rude to guests...

Highly recommended for the budget option when visiting Venice (a pricey city).

I would recommend this place, everything about this place is nice. Only thing that need to be improved is the wifi services to the room.

It is cheap and mostly you get everything you need for sightseeing trip in Venice.

After trying to take public transport to the hostel, the bus dropped us off in front of multiple prostitutes. As we walked to the hostel, I no longer felt I was in Venice. It was one of the scariest walks of my life. My friends and I ended up paying for the hostel and going back into the center of Venice to rent a hotel. Even though I had to pay for the hostel even though we did not stay there, I felt way more safe on the island of Venice. I would not recommend this hostel to anyone else they feel comfortable in a very urban area.

Nuova Locanda Belvedere is located a couple blocks from the metro to Venice. The rooms are sufficient because you spend most of the time out and about. Wifi is available in the common areas, not the bedrooms. Easy and quick check in process. City taxes (1,50) must be paid in cash, so walk with some change. I would recommend to others.

It was a good experience in Mestre. They need to improve a little in cleanness

Its a small place and a bit dated but very homey and super clean. Very relaxed atmosphere. Not a party hostel, which was a nice break. No kitchen but there is a fridge and vending machine. Not much outside the hotel but only 10 min walk to train station which brings you to main Venice. I found train easier than bus. Make sure you valudate your train ticket though... there is a €50 fine if you dont!!!! All in all good stay. Friendly staff who make you feel welcome. :)

We enjoyed our 4-days stay at the Hotel.

The Hotel is only few minutes walk away from the train and bus station, where you can get a cheap ride to the venice peninsula (10 minutes ride).

The Hostel Staff was nice and helpful and the rooms were cleaned every day!

The bathroom has been integrated into the rooms. You can get towels for an extra 2€.

The walls are thin, the bathrooms are shared (and only three = can be a long wait if three people are having a shower) and the staff was practically invisible. But it was clean and close to the train station (and Venice) and didn't cost an arm and a leg.

The wifi in only the common room and only one bathroom (especially being just a shower with a toilet) between multiple different rooms (8+ people) is very difficult to deal with. It makes planning trips and getting ready in the morning very difficult and are the two main reasons why I would not recommend this hostel to anyone else. The saving grace is it is close to the train station and the staff are nice (would have rated 100 but one didn't speak English and had a hard time helping us get to the airport, he tried his best though), but in my opinion that's not worth it.

We arrived late but someone was there to check us in. Gave us a lot of good info on how to get to Venice and what to do. Room was pretty much a hotel, no problems.

Warm welcome, the hotel manager was very helpful. But not separate room for bathroom and toilet, so when I want to go to the toilet at the morning I had to wait for people to finish their shower...

Everyone was friendly, the rooms were clean, it was a lovely stay!

While Venice is easily accessed by bus (15min ride), the neighborhood that this hostel is located in is kind of sketchy. There are few places to eat nearby and there is not much going on...mostly residential. The hostel itself is nice and clean! Great wifi and AC! :)

Great stay. Outside of the city and tucked away, but if you like seeing more residential areas, then it shouldn't cause any problems for you!

Bed was quite crap, but I didn't try stiffer one so might have just been unlucky. Owner is okay, location is a hassle to reach (took 2 hours from Marco Polo). No lockers in the room. Electronics had to be charged just behind an open door. I was surprised my phone was still there the next morning.

The location can't be beaten, and the price is so affordable. My room and bathroom were very clean, the air conditioning was strong, the hot water was very hot, and the wifi was fast. The owner was pleasant and didn't even smack me for arriving two hours late, at 1AM. :)

You should mention that payment is cash only below 50 euros

The hostel is near to a bus station from where you only need about 10 to 15 minutes to get to Venice central bus station. Those busses drive really frequently which makes it easy to enjoy the trip itself. The hostel is quite clean and the staff extraordinary friendly and fluently speaking English.

This hotel is located in a quite 'new part: of Venice, close to the train station. The lady in charge is very friendly, hotel is very clean, great spacious rooms & showers, and an awesome terrace. Laundry service also available. Great location (it costs you only 1,30 EUR to get to the old part of Venice. Highly recommended! Suzi and Paul

The place ain't bad, but not great either. Good enough if you only need a place to sleep.

So, when we arrived, everything looked fine. The girl was nice, the room was OK. There were no towels avaiable and it was a hostel with a clean simple room. But, after one well spent day in venice (25 min away), de arrived there and se saw that there was a cleaning service, so our things were all together (someone touched everything) and the girl said that we left the sheet dirty and we must pay 20 euros (without receipt). Well, we know whats we do, and nothing was left dirty. And why should we pay for a clean sheet?? We was going to reuse them??

Buena relación precio/calidad. Muy bien situado, apesas 5min andando de la estación de Mestre y a 10min en bus de Venecia.

I love this place. It's humble & charming. It's incredibly close to the station. It's clean. The staff is so, so friendly. There are a couple supermarkets not too far from the hostel. Also, Venice is only a short ride on the train away. (: Highly recommend.

The overall experience was good. Just a few concerns regarding the directions specified for the people coming from Mestre train station. The last part of the instruction is confusing and people can get confused for a little while.

My main concern is that I couldn't pay by a credit card even though they specified that in BOLD Letters.
