Ostello Santa Fosca - CPU Venice Hostels

For me this was the loveliest hostel I've stayed at so far! The location is perfect on the island (although the whole Venice island is very walkable no matter where you're staying). The hostel has a great common room, kitchen and courtyard. In the kitchen they offer free pasta, spices and oil.

The entire place is extremely clean and someone came to clean our room and bathroom every day. Reception staff is also extremely friendly and happy to help/answer any questions; I also got to meet students from the nearby student dormitory.

I also met really great roommates and people in the common room; this place was definitely the highlight of my stay in Italy!

Ostello Santa Fosca is a very nice hostel! The rooms are clean, the staff's very friendly and gave me a lot of tips, even though I checked in quite late. The location was superb, only 13 minutes by foot from the train station and just 4 minutes from the nearest vaporetto stop. The main touristic spots are also at walking distance, but the hostel is situated in a nice quiet place where you don't hear any noise.

100% recommended!

Santa Fosca is an oasis of tranquillity inside the hustle and bustle of Venice. Again, we enjoyed it very much!

This is the best place to stay in Venice

cleaning stuff is removing personal things and the toilet was not always clean. the stuff was perfect, but the men was a horror, loud and intrusive. the cling system of the doors has to be improved!

I really enjoyed my stay. Location was great. Loved the church bells. Staff was helpful. Nice courtyard.

The location is great and the building is incredibly beautiful. The staff was very nice and smiling.

Unfortunately, there were bedbugs in the room. I've been bitten around thirty times and the staff wasn't taking it seriously at all. They even accused us to have brought them. The place could be infested if they don't react correctly.

Great hostel! Good location, super clean, amazing rooms (private with bathroom), staff very friendly, beatiful spaces inside the hostel (basket/football field, gardens... Will repeat next time i go to Venice!

Spent my whole summer visiting cities throughout Spain, Italy, and France and this may have been my favorite hostel I stayed in. Loved all of the green spaces/courtyards, friendly people and staff (the only reasonably priced place I could find in venice that allowed me to check in after my late night flight), and only a few single beds to each room rather than filled to capacity with bunk beds.

Decent sized rooms and great lockers, fan isn’t that good so gets hot in summer, kitchen was excellent and location is nice. Not the most social but nice courtyard

A little bit dated (especially the bathrooms) but in a very convenient location to some main streets of Venice, while far away enough to be quiet at night. Has all you need.

We really enjoyed our stay! The hostel building is a beautiful former convent. The staff was very friendly and very helpful, and the kitchen area was excellent. Remember that no towels are provided, and even the private rooms are in the style of university dorms. The hostel is slightly out of the way - don't expect to pop out the front door and immediately see a market. But within about 5 minutes or so, you start to see shops.

Lack of AC expected, but only one small fan for 4th floor not enough. Views were amazing and hostel was very charming. Overall definitely worth it!

I hadn't stayed in a hostel dorm for a long time and actually was happy with the experience. I had my own bed (not a bunk bed) which was really nice, and although we were seven in a room (female dorm) I felt like we managed quite well with just one bathroom and one toilet to share. Everyone was respectful and kind. The staff was friendly, the kitchen was well equipped however the fridge was very small. Free tea, coffee and pasta was a nice added touch. It was clean, location was nice and within walking distance from everywhere. Overall definitely recommended!

Man at reception wonderful! Gave us so many tips on exploring Venice for our one day there. He went above and beyond.

Beautiful hostel, everything is clean, the kitchen is well equipped, the staff is very friendly. The location is okay, it is easy to find and near the stations but far from the "center". As a negative aspect, my room was really cold considering it was in winter.

I loved my stay at Ostello Santa Fosca. The room and bathroom were spacious and clean. Bed linen and hand soap included and light and plug for each bed. Everything was in good conditions and the staff was nice and helpful. The location is great, in the main island, just a 20 minute walk from the train station and also within short walking distance from Rialto and Piazza San Marco. I highly recommend it.

Everything was perfect except the internet connection.

It was my third time at Ostello Santa Fosca. And it was again very good. I met great people, the room was enough for two people, the bathroom was ok. This is the best place to stay in Venice when you a student/a traveller who want to sleep in Venice, not in Mestre. It's close to railway station, close to vaporetto stop. The kitchen is big and you can prepare meals and coffee every day. Love it!

A perfect location not far from the S. Lucia train station and easy to find, small rooms of only 3 beds with a locked cupboard for each, and a great kitchen... I couldn't dream better, especially for that quite low price!

a great hostel with a great location and large rooms and lockers! they had everything I needed except a reception who is usually always there to guide the travelers in most of the hostels and make the hostel feel warm and welcoming. I stayed for a week and I could see how many students traveling for 2 or 3 days needed someone local to guide them and give them advice and that is what every hostel provide and not here. was not a big deal for me. my room was clean and my bed was very comfortable. I really enjoyed my stay, and thought it was very good value.

The position is quite central to where I wanted to be, 15 min walk to train station, and in a quiet, peaceful and beautiful neighborhood away from the massive crowds.

It's a bit of a walk (25 min) to St. Marco's square though, if that's an issue for some people. It wasn't for me.

Though I couldn't sleep the night that I stayed there, still think it was a nice place to stay for a night!

The staff service was very kind and nice, always able to help. Even if there is no full service 24/7 of the reception the advice of this via mail before and in the hostel doesn't becomes a problem, great way to handle this.

A good clean, convince, place to stay in Venice. I do recommend to others.

Freezing cold, noisy doors/hallways, water spilling everywhere from bathroom, smells old and mildew, tucked far away from anything, strict and unhelpful reception. The only good part is the very clean sheets and individual lights/outlets at the beds.

Terrible problem in the bathroom: The water on the floor after every shower, the water coming out of the bathroom even to the corridor. You go to the bathroom at night and your shoes are immediately wet. It should be fixed asap.

Except this: fabulous garden, nice kitchen and dining-room. Nice people, fantastic place, 5 minutes to vaporetto

Great location and cheap compared to other central Venice hostels! There's a nice big garden and the rooms are spacious and clean. Staff aren't always on shift but it was fine because we arrived in the allocated time. Would recommend!

This hostel was a lot different than the others we stayed in on our Europe trip. It was more like a college dorm, and less loud and intense (others definitely had a "party" type atmosphere). The rooms themselves were nothing special but pretty nice (which is what we were looking for honestly), and the shared bathrooms were clean enough for the most part. The location was excellent and the staff were all very nice.

Wi-Fi did not work. Floor of room was stained. Bed had a hair on it. Overall clean but not perfect
