Knowing that the boat is not as spacious as hostels in Amsterdam, it has its own special atmosphere. Breakfast included is perfect to start your day.

Very good location 10mn away from the central station.

Great breakfast.

A bit noisy (you hear every step on the boat) but for a few nights it's perfect

At first I didn't know it a boat which was very funny. The hostel is in great location. Not far from a library, central train station and city centre. I hope to visit it again.

The boat is an excellent place to stay as it is only a short walk to most of the tourist attractions. The staff is amazing providing help wherever they can and keeping the boat very clean. As it is not a solid house it can be a little bit loud at night. Good breakfast.

the boat friesland was very good, the manager was 5 stars, the boat, the breakfast and the ambient too!

the room has one problem, too small but do not forget that we are in a cabin crew boat, and the smell of the canal during the night was terrible, but at the end everything was OK.

6 women aged 25-40 stayed for a city-break. The smell in the front cabins is foul (smelt like sewage) disguised very badly with sensor air freshner. If you want to sleep AT ALL then you had better be the only guests. Cabins are minute and you cannot sit up in bed and can only just about stand and dress one at a time while yr companion waits out In the hall. Breakfast is bread, cheeses and juice. Showers were hot. States no curfew but by 9pm Captain Roy was asking us to be quiet! Although for the stag party staying at the same time this rule was relaxed at 5am when it was ok to be as noisy as you like and congregate above the bedrooms waking everyone up. On the whole we loved Amsterdam but are gutted be did not book Into a hotel or hostel.

We loved our stay aboard the Friesland! Good location, near the central station and walkable distance from many attractions. Rooms are very small, just know what you are getting into! But the boat is comfortable and Roy, the captian is wonderful! Gives great suggestions for things to do and is such a welcoming and friendly guy. We had a great time hanging out in the common room and talking to other guests during breakfast (which is good as well!)

The room was smaller than we are used to, but that is to be expected of a cabin. Everything else was perfect - the staff was extremely helpful in giving suggestions about the city, the location was very close to the centre and the overall amience was chill and relaxed.

Friesland was very easy to find with the instructions given by the hostel. As we arrived we also got a map and quick introduction to main areas and places in Amsterdam which we appreciated a lot. The boat was bit smelly in the evenings but that's normal for old boats, nevertheless everything was tidy and very clean! Breakfast was also very good. It was a safe place to be and the owner was very nice and helpful.

It was great, specially the reception, the information and the breakfast!! the rooms are prety small and clean, but the toillets and the showers are bigger. the location is perfect, is near to the train station and the Nemo museum, is safe and quiet. the salon is very big, and the view is extraordinary,

Thanks m. Jhon, it was the best choice and a great experience.

It is a real pity for me to have to write this review. The Friesland Boat is such a marvellous place that I would prefer to keep it secretly for myself. But I have to publicly aknoledge the great experience I had there. Despite being a bargain everything was great, from the management (John a helpful and hearty presence) to the cabins (tiny but tidy) to the rich breakfast. Five stars!

My son and I really enjoyed our stay at this hostel. The room and the bathrooms were very small, but to be expected given the size of the boat. The man at reception was very friendly and helpful (although he didn't have our reservation, which was odd, but found us a room anyway). I had made a room deposit of 10 Euro with hostelsclub.com, which was supposed to apply to the room price, but the receptionist didn't know anything about it, so I will have to see if I can get that back from hostelsclub. Not a very far walk from the train station. Breakfast was absolutely fabulous!

the staff is super friendly but the boat itself stinks. The room is too small and the corridor stinks very badly. Too bad because the place is very convenient to go to the center.

B&B boat friesland is a place very beautiful, clean and Roy is a person really friendly and gentle;you can do everything because you have your personak key so there isn't problem with the time to spent visiting the city(that's very wonderfull);the boat is near to the central station(about 10minutes to foot)and so near to the city centre and it's simple to use the pubblic transport because the city is full of bus, tram and metro to go evrywhere.Good travel!!

The 4 bed room is a little cramped, no space for more than one person to stand at a time, would not want to stay on this boat in the summer or on a hot day. But the breakfast was really good and a lot more than I expected. The boat manager was really friendly and helpful.

It is very clean there. At nights it's quiet. Breakfasts were great and without food and drink limits. 5 minutes walk to city center. But the best thing was view from your window on a harbour and city lights! Sleeping on a boat is something that you won't forget.
