staff are not proactively helpful and friendly. I was having trouble opening the door while the reception was just sitting there looking. He did not offer any help until I asked for it 5 mins later.

Atmosphere was not great. Partly because staff are not friendly, nobody mingles in the common areas.

The best hostel in terms of localization;

The sheets were clean, and they gave the towels;

The hot water was great, in the Madrid's cold weather;

The breakfast was very good, and they serve coffee and biscuits 24 h.

I strongly recomend.

A nice place in a wonderful location. Staff kind and friendly.

I am not able to give a very detailed feedback a the hotel had plumbing problems and I was redirected to the americana hotel nearby. Due to the endless converations the recdeptionist had it was very difficult to sleep. The onlt criicisms of the Hostel Puerts dekl Sol are that a 2 slice toaster and 1 microwave are insufficient for the number of guests and each morning a considerable amount of time was spent in these queues.

Brilliant location. Couldnt be any closer to the centre of Sol.

I've stayed in Puerta del Sol from 15 May untill 19 May 2008. Nice place, very quit even it was in the centre of Madrid! I recommend this place when you are planning a trip to Madrid. Adios, Dennis (the Netherlands)

You dont have to be gay to stay here, and its located perfectly in the center of Madrid! safe, quiet and you dont have to "bother" anyone to get into your room!:) Highly recomanded!!

good position excellent for any place in the city.Room (well cleaned every day)enough small but for a person is good.only:they didn't have hot coffe made in the moment for breakfast!!!very polite and nice persons and staff.

clean and quiet. i stayed in a single room where, unfortunately, the bed was not very good.

It's not necessary being gay to stay here and have a good time. Friendly people and quiet overnight ( room with a window on the inner court). Right in the heart of Madrid and just 30 meters from Metro Sol, on the 4 th floor but with an elevator.

I recommend this hotel for its location. It's closed to evrything you look for from musuems to bars and nightclubs. The owner is very friendship and makes you feel like home.

The staff, especially David, is very efficient, friendly and ready to help. I've spent a good time there. The room was small, clean, just enough to sleep.

Nice hostel, very well located, at walk distance of all the interesting points in Madrid. Delicious and generous breakfast.
