Great location, the building interior itself is pleasant, good chill out lounge areas. The 6 bed room I was in was a little cramped.

This hostel is nice, and close to the city. It is one of the cheaper hostels to stay at in Madrid, but still not super cheap and food and drinks can be expensive.

If you are looking for a place that is not too crowded yet gives you just the right amount of everything during your stay in a hostel, Mad Hostel is the place you'd want to consider.

Almost everything wonderful especially the clean bedroom as well as the reasonalbe price and convenient location.. the only failure might be the acoustic environment.

Hostel is huge. Breakfast includes coffee, orange juice, and a croissant if you like. Showers turn off every 25 sec. So you have to press the button often, but nice and warm. The rooms are small, you do have lockers in rooms. If your on a bottom bunk you have no space to sit on it, the bed above is very close to the bottom one, very annoying, if you ask me. Staff are friendly after a conversation.

When we arived, we had to wait quite some time to check-in; if we only had a couple of nights in Madrid, it would have been a pity to wait so long to go out and explore the city. It though turned out to be because the hotelman was so sweet and wanted to explain everything about Madrid to the guests. We also got upgraited to a 4-bed room instead of a 6-bedroom for free. In the end, we only stayed 2 nights instead of 5 because we found our appartment for the next 6 months in Madrid. It was easy to get our money back for the last two nights (if you just tell them before 11 pm the day before). You just do not get back the 2/5 part of the 10% for hostelsclub.com!

I loved this hostel! It was really clean, the heating was amazing, the breakfast was good, the prices were low and it's a close easy walk to the metro, and really close to most places in Madrid, and they have events on every night, and everyone is super friendly!!! I would definitely go back if I go back to Madrid!!!

Male staff are very friendly, female not so much. Breakfast is very poor and view from the terasse is not beautiful at all, like someone wrote. It's quiet and the location is very good, but i think they should invest in breakfast little more.

Perfect for young people. Clean and relaxed.. not unlikely to see drunk younger in the night running around.

Got a free simple breakfast and can buy snacks. Pool table and free internet..

The location is fab - right in the middle of Madrid - you cant go wrong... Defo recommended :)

After reading lots of bad comments on hostels in Madrid, and after reading the description of for Mad Hostel, I decided to book a bed there. It was quiet good. It#s clean and safe, you even get a large safe for your bag or your luggage. I could definetly recommend this hostel for a cheap stay in Madrid.

I liked it! the room was small, but I did not spend much time there.

The lockers were great you could easy lock your stuff up.

The kitchen could be a bit better, but it was useable.

Good Hostel --> Cheap & Clean.

The room was small, but as we were with the 4 of us in our own room, it was fine.

Located in the centre and close to various metro stations.

Breakfast included in the price, simple but nice.

Only disappointment was that they advised us to take the Bus Shuttle to the Airport, and told us that the taxi would be around € 80,-....don't believe it, we had to take a flight at 5:55, so took a taxi anyway ---> € 28,-, they've probably got a deal with the shuttle service.

All in all a good choice to stay in Madrid, they deserve their good rating!

Good value for money, really in the center, close to everything, clean and nice- beds not the most comfortable - you can really hear and feel person above/below you, but after enjoying Madrid you will be dead tired and sleep;-). Wifi not the strongest, still good enough to check ur mails and surf net, but don't expect to make skype calls etc. Have prepared 10 euro for deposit and 5 euro deposit for the towel if u use it. Breakfast rather simple- cornflakes or doughnut or crossaint but it is definitelly worht styaing in as for the price and location as well as friendly staff!

The kitchen was very small.

The one room where the people have to stay togheter for breakfast, dinner etc, was too warm, with "close air" and no sun light..

All the rest was very very kind and beautiful..the court, the rooms and the people.

I will return!

Great hostel, has all the necessities. Rooms are new, although quite small, but do the job well. Good common areas (even a basic gym!). Located close to transport etc although close enough to walk to a lot of the main places to see. Breakfast was basic but enough to get you going for the day. definitely recommend this hostel.

Though it had a great location and decent common area, advertising air conditioning during the summer turned out to be a total sham, especially since that was our main reason for choosing MAD! They turn it off in the middle of the night and leave you dying of heat exhaustion in your sleep!

This is one of the tamer hostels in Madrid. You won't find hordes of party-goers here, though the occasional crowd of partyers does show up here. It's a great, professional hostel, and for the price can't be beat. Free wi-fi is not very dependable though at peak usage.

Very clean and very nice hostel. I was only there a couple of nights but was completely comfortable there and would totally recommend.

The staff were friendly and helpful, the other people staying there were also friendly and easy to get a long with.

Great atmosphere, great facilities, great location. Very impressed.

Good location if you are interest in the night life. There are not many social activities at this hostel, but the next closet hostel (Cat's) invites those from this hostel for their outings. The kitchen is small and the stove a simple burner that takes forever to boil water. So I suggest eating out.

Very nice hostel, located at the central area of Madrid, where you can go to many touristic places just by walking. They also lend you towels.

Nice common room with free internet and a good place to meet people.

The only thing I dind't like was the breakfast, one of the poorest I've ever had in a hostel.

The location, and the size of the hostel are the best things about it. It is a very smoothly run operation, with everything you need to sleep and clean yourself. Security is excellent !! The staff were mostly friendly and speak english. Communal showers are a bit primitive, with nowhere to hang your clothes, intermittent hot water (if any) and the floor was always flooded. Common area is not really a comfortable place to chill out, which made it difficult to socialise. Kitchen was small but adequate and relatively clean. Free internet and wifi were a big plus. Bedrooms lacked atmosphere but beds were comfortable and clean enough. For the price, it´s a great place to stay for a few days.
