Quito is the capital of Ecuador, fascinating, because of its location and of how it is builed, with a historical center particularly suggestive and an important history on its back, what turns it into what it is nowdays.

In ancient times Quito was the second most important militar spot for the Inca people, wich, once Quito was invaded, nether respect its culture or transform it into a great city.

But let's go to the reasons to visit it...

 

1. IS THE CLOSEST CITY TO THE SUNI

f the neightbor Vulcano Chimborazo is the farest point from the center of the world, the city of Quito is, converseley, the urban agglomerate that is closest to the sun, in fact, it borns at the base of the Pichincha volcano, at 2850 metres of the level of the sea.When you arrive, probablily will suffer a bit because of its temperatures, so different to ours, the air will make you feel strange, but will habituate soon, don't worry.

 

2. ITS HISTORICAL CENTRAL WAS THE FIRT ONE TO BE PROCLAMED UNESCO HERITAGE


Its historical center was absolutly the first one to be provlamed UNESCO heritage (1978), there are arround 40 churches, and an infinite serie of palaces, sqares and streets, eith colorful markets.

 

3. IT'S LOCATED ABOVE THE ECUADOR

Quito is located practically above the ecuador, but you don't have to wait a tropical weather, as you can think, because with its high, beyond the 2000 metres, it's not hot all year, but are also achieved the 30º of maximum, on some moments of the year.

 

4. IT IS BUILD AT THE FEET OF A VOLCANO


We have anticipated it before, Quito rises at the foot of an active volcano, Pichincha, that, if you're passionate about hiking, can be scaled. From the city leaves the highest cable car in the world, TeleferiQo, which will take you up to 4100 meters, from here you expect a walk of about 10 minutes.
