The real name of the castle is Bran Castle, but its better known by the general public as Dracula's Castle, and is located in Brasov, Romania.
The story of this castle is tightly linked to that of Count Dracula, identified as the character Prince of Wallachia, Vlad Tepes, known for his cruel temperament. We have to say that even the position of the castle itself is rather intriguing, as it is located in a very narrow gorge.

WHERE IS BRAN CASTLE LOCATED?
Dracula's Castle is located in the village of Bran, not far from Brasov, in Transylvania.
Brasov can be easily explored on foot, and boasts several points of interest, such as Casa Sfatului, the Council House, a 13th century with the famous Trumpeter's Tower.
HOW TO GET TO BRAN CASTLE FROM BUCHAREST
To best visit Bran Castle, we suggest you fly to Bucharest and, from here, get a train to the village of Brasov.
The train journey takes around 3 hours and the ticket costs less than 10 euro per person. And, you'll get to see the wonderful countryside along the way!
Once arrived in Brasov, you have 2 travel options: get a bus (the bus stop is located near the train station and the ticket costs from 3 to 5 euro, depending on which bus company you pick) or to get a taxi which will get you to the castle in 35-45 minutes, costing roughly 12 euro (remember to bargain over the price of the taxi ride in advance!).
HOW MUCH DOES THE TICKET TO THE BRAN CASTLE COST?
The visit to the castle cost 40,00 Lei, which equals to roughly 8.50 euro per person, but if you are a student you can purchase a reduced ticket by simply showing your student ID or ID card. The reduced ticket for students costs di 25 Lei (5.50 Euro).
WHERE TO SLEEP IN BRAN
We advise against traveling from Bucharest to Bran for just a day trip, as you might risk not being able to fully enjoy you visit to the Castle and feel extremely tired on your way back. So,we suggest you stay for at least one night in one of these amazing hostels in Brasov.

The hostel is located a stone's throw from Brasov Old City, in a similarly central location as the previous hostel. Here, guests can take part in one of the BBQ events organized at the hostel, in it's outdoor fully-equipped BBQ area.
Hostel Boemia
Located near to the Council House and to the Biserica Neagră, this hostel is really comfortable and clean.
It provides only dormitories, from 3 to 10 beds, and is also located in an area full of bars and restaurants.
