About us
Handmade with lots of love, Hostel Ruthensteiner has been providing world travelers with a place to meet, kick back & enjoy since 1968. Our unique hostel features beautiful common spaces & gardens (complete with local artwork & furniture-creations), musical instruments for guest use (amazing jam sessions!), a cozy bar (get to know other travelers!), a fully equipped guest kitchen... but the best thing about the Hostel is the friendly, international staff at the 24h reception. Accommodation
We have a wide range from a Single Room Ensuite, Studio Appartment with own Kitchen up to 10 bed dorms mixed, all female or all male. Our rooms are cosy, clean and affordable, have good beds and include free WIFI, linens, City Spy Map and access to all our other facilities.

Services and activities
We also offer bike rentals, iPad rentals, hot and cold drinks throughout the day, free hair dryers, irons, towels for rent, safes with electrical plugs, phone chargers, international adapters, a complete list of other friendly hostels, and help with tour bookings at Vienna’s best Tour Company.

We are just a short 5-minute walk away from the Westbahnhof train station, ideally located between the historic city center and the Schönbrunn Palace in a quiet little side street. Just off from Vienna's biggest shopping street and student district our close neighbourhood offers at least 10 different food shops in a 3 minute range, 4 supermarkets and 2 night supermarkets (a rarity in austria :).
