About us
About five years ago, looking for a farm house in which to move in, we bumped into an old 18th century farm in the outskirts of Castiglion Fiorentino, in the heart of the Valdichiana Valley (Arezzo). There was hardly anything left of the home and nature had taken over. The fields, once farmed, were now covered with wild oats.
We fell in love with the place and, although we were not yet sure of the purchase, for us it was already Podere Le Spighe.

Accommodation
The farmhouse features 3 independent rooms each equipped with every comfort (private bathroom with shower, an introductory basket of toiletries, television, air conditioning , insect screens, independent heating system, minibar, safe and WIFI internet access). All the rooms are different. Furnished in a warm and welcoming style, each room enjoys the light and colors of the Tuscan countryside. Towels, hairdryers and kettles (with a wide offer of teas and infusions) are available.

Services and activities
Podere Le Spighe is situated in a beautiful open space with a garden surrounding the whole property; it features rooms with private areas, a swimming pool where guests can relax and enjoy part of their day and 2 acres of gardens to take walks. Careful attention has been paid to energy saving and bio sustainability. The whole structure is heated by a biomass plant and solar thermal panels.

Surroundings
There are plenty of places which can be visited in the area. In the surroundings in fact, in the Valdichiana Valley between Siena and Arezzo, there are unique panoramas of rare beauty and ancient culture. Cities like Pienza, Arezzo, Cortona and Lucignano are within easy reach by car, allowing visitors to visit different places every day. We’ll be more than happy to give advice and provide information to make your stay unforgettable.

The swimming pool (10x5 mt.) is located with perfect exposure, in full sun all day until sunset. Available to guests during their entire stay, it is a lovely spot for relaxing and enjoying a swim after a busy day’s sightseeing.
