About us
Officially ranked as the best hostel in Medellin by TripAdvisor for three years running, International House Medellin Hostel is best known for its professional rooftop kitchen and community dinners / BBQs, where you can easily meet people and socialize even if you are traveling solo. The T1 fiber-optic internet line direct to the building allows skipping or Netflix even in your dorm room.

Accommodation
We have 19 rooms 12 are 4-bed, mixed dorm rooms. Then we have two 6-bed dorms, each with an ensuite bathroom. We also have a 10-bed mixed dorm with ensuite bathroom. We have three private rooms with queen-sized bed. All the rooms have one or two wall fans. Most have big windows with views of the sports complex across the street. All rooms come with towels and bed linens, individual lockers, and an electric plug for every bed. For the 19 rooms, there are 14 bathrooms!

Services and activities
We have two main common areas. Our famous rooftop terrace with a 360 view of Medellin. It boasts (1) probably one of the best kitchens of any hostel anywhere, (2) a huge seating area with big-screen TV with both satellite and cable TV, and (3) another seating area with an argentinian barbeque. There is also a full bathroom and steam room sauna on the rooftop. Our internet is the best at any hostel in Colombia....30 megas, fast and stable, thanks to a dedicated fiberoptic line to the building.

Surroundings
We are located in an authentic Colombian neighborhood away from the overly touristy areas. Across the street is one of the largest, public sports complexes in the country with tennis, basketball, football, two pools, archery, bowling, beach volleyball, yoga, aerobics, running track, and an outdoor weightlifing area. All activities are free or very cheap. We are in the geographic center of Medellin, equidistant from all of it´s major attractions and only 5-10 minutes away from the three night

Why should you stay with us
Our rooftop terrace is where groups of guests or solo travelers get together to cook and share meals everyday. Our fully equipped professional kitchen makes preparing fresh/gourmet food easy. We have plenty of fridges to store your food. Then hang out and watch a game on satellite TV or chill on the other side of the roof and take a steam bath before heading out for the evening.

We have the best internet and the best kitchen of any hostel in the country.
