From Schiphol Airport straight to the Uptown hostel:
Bus 397 runs straight from Schiphol airport to the Uptown. From Schiphol, walk to bus stop 'Plaza/NS' in Schiphol. Take Bus 397 destination Amsterdam. Get off at bus stop 'Rijksmuseum' in Amsterdam. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the Uptown hostel. The bus fare is around €5 (you can buy a ticket on the bus *card only) and takes 30 minutes. Buses leave every 15 mins and after 1am every hour on the night bus N97.

From Amsterdam Central Station:
Take tram 2 or 5 and get off at the stop 'Rijksmuseum', one stop past the famous Leidseplein bar area. Walk back 150 meters in the direction the tram came from and turn left into the Vossiusstraat, we are at number 46.

From Schiphol Airport to Amsterdam Central Station:
Take a train directly from the airport to Amsterdam Centraal Station. Buy a ticket from a machine. This train ride will cost around €4 (one-way ticket) and takes about 12 minutes. Then take a tram to the Uptown, see above.

From Amsterdam Duivendrecht (Eurolines):
Take a train to Station Zuid and from Station Zuid take tram 5 towards Central Station. Get off at tram stop 'Van Baerlestraat'. Walk back to the van Baerlestraat and take a right. Take the 3rd street to the right, this is the Vossiusstraat, we're at number 46!

From Megabus Bus Stop Zuiderzeeweg:
Take tram 26 towards Centraal Station and follow directions above.
