1849 Backpackers is unique. Both the owners and managers live on site to ensure your stay with us is both welcoming and free of dramas.

We are not a 'party hostel,' so you will feel comfortable and safe in this beautiful historic hotel.

1849 provides free, unlimited and fast WiFi, free pancakes every morning from 7 - 9.30am, beautiful gardens to relax in, free BBQ, a big comfortable lounge and FOXTEL provided for world sporting events and movies.

If you prefer to play rather than watch sport, we have built a four a side grass soccer pitch/volleyball court, and a big area is provided for table tennis. There is even our own theatre, with stage lighting and musical instruments for you to have fun with.
