​​On The Rock Hostel Salvador is located on the beach front in the bohemian Rio Vermelho district of Salvador. There are direct bus connections to the airport(40min), main bus station(20min) and Pelourinho(20min). Our hostel is definately one of the best locations in town. It is situated close to the main attractions of Salvador, with cheap restaurants and supermarkets nearby in the traditional alley of VilaMatos. To get to the main carnaval circuit Barra/Ondina it´s only a 10min walk by foot.

Even though the hostel is situated in the geographical center of Salvador, you won´t find a quieter location.The only sound you will hear at night is the sound of the waves clashing at the outer wall of the hostel.

The hostel is established in an old fisherman´s home in front of the ocean with excellent swimming and surfing at our doorstep. On weekdays you will have the beach almost to yourself and on the weekend you can join the locals for a soccer game or just make new friends.​

The most exciting nightlife of Salvador in Rio Vermelho is just a 10min walk away from our hostel. Here you can choose from a wide arrange of poshy restaurants, live-music venues, discos and alternative hang-outs. Enjoy Salvador´s nightlife at it´s best!​

On The Rock Hostel offers clean, comfortable and safe accomodation. The majority of our rooms have a seaview and there is a large terrace to chill out and make further travel plans. Breakfast is included and eventually we will teach how to cook some traditional dishes from Bahia to our visitors.
