There is a certain sense of community at the Funk Lounge where fellow travelers come to congregate and share their stories and intriguing perspectives. Conversations are filled with deep knowledge only attained through personal experience and there is a palpable social connectivity that warms the heart.
I was never one for travel and failed to see the benefit. It just seemed like a chore and a pretentious form of boasting for pseudo-bon vivants. But I am sold. I cannot express enough gratitude for opening my mind.
In a circular path to my travels befitting a novel, I checked into Funk with Ines and I checked out with Ines. No one fails to feel Ines' radiant presence. She is a bubbly ray of sunshine in an otherwise gray world bringing energy just the same to those who do and those who don't deserve it. Ines even had the sincere heart to hang out with me at 6am on a cold winter day whilst I waited for my final taxi to the airport!
Although I cannot fail to mention all the staff. Jasmin - for his colorful personality. Katerina - for teaching me about dubstep. Anja - always immensely helpful and knowledgeable she gave me some great restaurant recommendations. Diano - all around fun guy.
Thank you all.
