The Roof Backpackers opened in November 2014, in the city of Guadalajara, Jalisco.

The Roof Backpackers is owned and managed by travelers who know what a hostel needs. We love hosting people from other countries to learn about other cultures, to make new friends, and to show them a little of what our country has to offer in one of the most beautiful states of Mexico, Jalisco, the home of Tequila.

Enjoy a relaxed, clean, fun, and friendly atmosphere where “Mi casa es tu casa” with a large terrace and beautiful view of the Expiatorio Temple. We are Ideally located in American Colony (Colonia Americana), a safe neighborhood that is in walking distance of the historical center of Guadalajara and the Expiatorio Temple, where you can find markets, street food, and free dance lessons. In addition, we are close to ATMs, supermarkets, and Chapultepec Avenue, famous for its nightlife.

Whether you in search of a comfortable dorm or a cozy private room, you will find what you are looking for at The Roof. Our rooms are clean, comfortable, and secure room as we have security cameras both outside and inside the hostel.
We provide various services including board games, laundry service (at an extra cost), towel rental, lock rental, TV with a DVD collection, luggage storage, lockers, high speed internet, hot showers, and a fully equipped kitchen to prepare your own food, but don’t worry about coffee, we will provide that. In addition, breakfast is included for the private rooms as well as a towel.

We are a friendly bunch and will do everything we can to make your stay here as enjoyable as possible. We can recommend restaurants, bars, day trips (and the cheapest and nicest tequila distillery), markets, beautiful churches, parks, and museums, or places to go dancing. No age restriction - all ages welcome.
Under 18 only in private rooms and must need be accompanied by an adult

Check in time starts at 14:00 to 22:00.
(but you're always welcome to arrive early as we can store your luggage from 8:00 am).
We can accommodate check-in past 22:00 for an additional cost. Please contact us if late check-in is required.
On extra reception hours an additional charge is applied.

Check out time is at 12:00.
Room key return required at check-out. If keys are not returned at time check-out, an additional charge is applied.

Payment upon arrival by cash.

Cancellation policy: 72 hours before arrival. In case of a late cancellation or a no show, you will be charged the full amount of your stay if you reserved a private room and the first two days of your booking if you reserved a dorm.

Parking fees:
$80 pesos for a car daily
$30 pesos for a motorcycle daily
Same Check-in/Check-out rules as your stay.

Taxes not included +19%

Breakfast included.

No curfew.

Hostel friendly with the environment, we use heaters and solar panels.
