With recently refurbished rooms, the historic hotel is the perfect place to experience the New Zealand hospitality in a traditional hotel. It offers backpacker dorms or en-suite rooms that can suit all budgets and preferences.
The hotel offers shared laundry facilities 24/7. It also has a shared kitchen and a TV room on the bottom floor in the backpackers area and all guests are welcome to use.
The Cambridge Hotel is minutes away from most of Wellington’s premier attractions, including Te Papa, The Embassy Theatre, Mount Victoria and many others.

(Unfortunately, we are unable to guarantee early check-ins. Our check-in time is from 2pm. If you arrive in Wellington prior to this, please feel to stop by the hotel. If your room is not ready at this time, we have free luggage storage, where you can store your things until check-in time.
Our reception is open 24 hours, so your late arrival will not be a problem. The front door is locked overnight for security, usually from around 11pm. If this is the case when you arrive, there is a buzzer to the right hand side of the front door.)

We have a strict under 18 policy, as we have a Bar and Gaming Rooming attached to the hotel. All minors (under the age of 18), must be travelling with a parent or legal guardian.

Please note that the Cambridge Hotel Bar and Cambridge Terrace are very busy and noisy from 21:00 until 03:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. You may experience noise disturbances from the bar and from the street during this time.
