SenegalStyle is a HUGE VILLA scattered between two properties and located in a calm and tranquil neighborhood near beaches, restaurants and clubs.

There are a total 8 very large rooms, 4 rooms with shared accommodation, twin & double beds, 3 are B&B style, king & queen size beds with en suite bathrooms for added privacy and 1 room with a double bed only. Locked closets are in every room so you can store your belongings safely with the knowledge that only you will have the key and your items will be secure during the day.

Check in/out is 12 noon for daily/night visitors, returning after 5pm.

Students participating in our monthly study and work abroad programs (French/Arabic/Wolof/African Drum/Business Incubator/Interns/Volunteers) are not required to leave in the afternoons and will be housed together in separate quads to work together more easily and share study time.

The hostel has many large open spaces, 2 balconies, a nice size terrace in the front (convenient for smokers!) and a very large one in back with an organic garden. The roof area is easily accessible and has a small African hut on top for silent meditation, reading, exercising surfing the net in the shade!

There is a wash area w/clothes lines and there is enough space for sunbathing, exercising, yoga, etc so feel free to take advantage all our facilities!

In addition, the entire property has been mosquito netted to keep flies and mosquitos out, every window, every door, so there's no reason to worry about malaria and insect repellant is protection enough! Dakar is not a high malaria area anyway so again, no worries as long as you use repellant in the early mornings and evenings. I am American and take every precaution (no meds tho)!! Monthly doses of localized meds can be obtained here in Dakar at the pharmacy for about $10 a box (4, one taken every week) so if the cost is expensive were you live, you can wait and buy them here with no problem. The pharmacy is right around the corner!

GREETINGS from SenegalStyle!

1. Large comfortable rooms, in a CLEAN BUG FREE ENVIRONMENT - in Africa... please help me keep it that way and don't leave food on plates and open snacks in your rooms.

2. We are not responsible for washing your clothing but you can pay to have someone do your wash. There are also several places in the neighborhood that do clothes as well. Remember, this is West Africa and we are used to hand washing our clothing and hanging on a clothes line to dry. If you wish to wash your own clothes I will happily show you how it's done and where to hang them!

3. We can arrange airport pickup and drop off service as it is about one hour outside of Dakar. Our driver will take you to change your currency or show you where the atm is so you can get local money BEFORE coming to SenegalStyle. You will want to buy water and other supplies perhaps so you need to get your money changed before arrival. The rates are better at the airport than at a bank or the change bureau. Do it there!

4. Get a local phone number at the airport before exiting the arrivals gate. The cost is only $2 and all you need is your passport - there are no contracts.

5. Our rules are the same as any normal person: Turn off lights, etc when you leave the bathroom/bedroom. Turn off the water in the bathroom and clean up behind yourself. MOM'S RULE; if you mess it up, clean it up! If you accidentally break something, THAT'S OK, just fix or replace it without complaining and be respectful of other people in the house. Don't 'borrow' take or eat anything belonging to someone else - treat others like you would like them to treat you.
