Since 2004, Casa Zen Guesthouse & Yoga Center has been a home away form home for thousands of guests from all over the world. Located at the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula in the tropical paradise of Costa Rica (recently voted the Happiest Place on Earth!), we are only 50 meters from the warm waters and beautiful white sand beaches of Mal País and Santa Teresa, and close to many fantastic restaurants, supermarkets and shops in town.

Our friendly boutique hostel is surrounded by a lush garden, ideally situated between the two main surf breaks of Playa Carmen and Santa Teresa. Whether you are a beginner surfer or a seasoned pro, you are sure to find your perfect wave. Enjoy the breathtaking sunsets from the pristine beach just a few minutes walk from your room, or spend the afternoon beneath the shade of a palm tree while the waves crash in front of you. The ocean is always just a few steps away, and when it’s time to take a break from the sunshine, drift off in one of our cozy hammocks or have a cold drink in our rancho.

Our helpful, bilingual staff is always ready to help plan other tours and activities in the area, including surf lessons, canopy tours, stand up paddleboarding (SUP), visits to nearby waterfalls, fishing, sailing, snorkeling, horseback riding, ATV rentals and more. We can also assist you with restaurant recommendations, reservations and travel planning, so your trip can be totally relaxing and worry-free!

Our treetop open air yoga deck will inspire the practiced yogi and beginner alike, with daily classes open to all. Our yoga retreats are ongoing and can be tailored to make your vacation everything you want it to be. Whether an invigorating morning practice, or a meditative afternoon session, our yoga classes and yoga retreats are taught by professional instructors, focusing on the Hatha Vinyasa style. We also offer interval training classes, helping to open the lungs with some serious cardio and strengthening every muscle in the body.

All of tidy, spacious rooms have been designed with the budget traveler in mind, offering guests comfort, cleanliness and charm at a good price. We provide guests a complimentary healthy breakfast each day, and our signature chef’s kitchen is open all day long if you’d like to prepare your own meals.
