Gurung’s Home is family based accommodation designed for travelers who wish to stay in peaceful area away from the crowd of touristic hub of Thamel, and learn about the general local lifestyle of the people. We came from the legendary Gorkha region, and been serving travelers from around the world for decades. Apart from our Nepalese hospitality, the atmosphere and local vibe of the place is the unique thing about our place.


Our valuable travelers can expect beautiful rooms with breakfast included, home amenities, small dining place, well furnished & equipped, and most importantly peaceful accommodation and friendly environment with our staffs who are always there to comfy your stay. We offer varieties of room types including single, twin double, family room, suite room and dormitories to suite any budget plan of our travelers.

Apart from our Nepalese hospitality, the atmosphere and local vibe of the place is the unique thing about our place. The nearest open ground is nice to watch in the evening where local kids and adults are seen enjoying sports like volleyball and football. Our well furnished and equipped spacious rooms with home amenities, free wi-fi, hot shower and good food are some of the features you can expect. The local bus stop is at distance of 10 min walk (Sorakhutte Bus Station) that will take you to City Bus Park (inside Kathmandu), Long Terminal Local Bus Station (outside Kathmandu) or nearest Swayambunath Stupa. Bus routes for most of the places in the valley including Bhaktapur can be found in City Bus Park. Thamel is at walking distance of 10-15 minutes.


We are at the residential area so we expect our travelers to dress decent around local people or public walk. Seeing a foreigners, people might come to you and ask few repetitive questions like “Where are you from?” “How many days in Nepal?”, so be ready to answer them.
