The Glasshouse Hotel

Description

The hostel was opened in Sept 2017.
It is a family run business, husband, wife & two sons, with Antony a partner from the UK.
Together we have a small staff to help run this small business, which caters mainly for tourists who come to go trekking & exploring Nepal.
It is a totally new building, erected after the earthquake, which provides a safe, peaceful & fun environment for which to hangout & make friends or from which to explore the capital from.

There are three hostel rooms, each a max of 8 people. One female dorm, one mixed & one male dorm. Each dorm is self-contained, with own shower room, toilet & basin. (hot & cold water)
Each pod has its own reading lamp, power points, privacy curtain, 2 lockers each & common recreation space for chilling out or making friends with roommates.
There are also 3 private rooms that come with many extras, Cable TV, Wifi, free tea & coffee & drinking water, ensuite bathroom, King size bed or twin.

There is a roof top terrace (5th floor) where breakfast is served, with a view of the city and streets below. Ideal to escape the city and relax in the sun. A cafe & bar on the first floor for drinks & snacks such as savory & sweet filled crepes & many other homemade dishes.
Free Internet is provided throughout the building, to keep you connected.
Ground floor travel desk, maps, ticketing for buses & air. The owner Deepak is a registered trekking guide & can arrange many treks.

The location is perfect for exploring the city of Kathmandu, both for visiting world heritage sites or just shopping or entertainment. Local markets are all around us, for which early morning is a good time to see locals going about their daily life & prayer. By day the whole of the city is a throng of sounds, colours & activity. By night our street returns back to a quiet more residential neighbourhood. However, late night clubs & bars are just 2- 3 mins away.

The hostel will meet all your expectations in terms of hygiene, cleanliness & international standards, at the same time having a traditional welcome from a real Nepali family & staff.
This friendly hostel is perfect for single people who wish to make friends whilst traveling, beginning with the resident owners & staff. A perfect place to either escape from the hustle & bustle or to embrace it. Not far from the airport, makes it easy to begin your adventures from and exit when the time comes.
