Backpackers Paradise Los Angeles

Actual facility not great, but for this cheap of a price right near LAX, I can't say it's a bad deal per se.

En el baño habia una plaga de hormigas, cuando llegué habian toallas mojadas por el suelo de mi habitación, y un dia dejé una camiseta y una toalla mia y cuando volví me las habian robado. La parte positiva es que tenia una cama doble para mi solo y habitación propia (aunque la gente entraba y salia para ir al baño que estaba en mi habitación)

i was at brussels airport when the attack toke place, so all flights were canceled,

I was there also last year at the hostel and it was nice, thats why i booked there again a bed for 3 nights

I liked everything. especially the free shuttle to the airport and ocean. champagne in the evening and coffee in the morning. often change the bed. Heated pool

It's a pity there's no 0 percent for the staff. The bad things written about the staff at this hostel and at Tradewings (they are the same place) are all true. These people will ruin your stay, believe me! The noise is just unbearable. The hostel area looks nice though. The free shuttle is also ok.

The place is a great setup, and the staff are ultra-friendly. The only problem is its location. The atmosphere is conducive to a young peoples' haven, but there aren't enough people or nearby attractions to give the party that it desperately wants.

The hostel is quite far from everything besides the airport. It takes about an hour by bus to get to Hollywood or Santa Barbara, about 1 and a half hour to downtown LA. Or you take the metro train and have to take 3 different lines (which means you have to pay three times). Bus and metro stop running at about midnight. So if you come here to party you should rather stay in another hostel closer to Hollywood. Besides the area is not very nice thats why they offer all these free rides to the trains and airport because they dont really want people to walk around in this area. The blueberry muffin for breakfast was great, they have a heated pool which is awesome, but the bar is quite small (only room for about 7 people) but I still had fun. There were 20 people in one room who had to share 1 bathroom! Some people working there were not very friendly. They wouldnt let me cancel the rest of my stay allegedly because I had booked via credit card which is stupid because I didnt have any problems cancelling at other hostels. Well, all in all I wouldnt stay there again.

Their position differ from the map! I went civic center following the map! I stayed another hodtel! Liar!

this hostel is infact a travelers paradise!!! i've read the negative responses before and can now totally say that this place is perfect for travelling to L.A,cheap, freindly staff, mostly clean infrastructure, a hot pool, a place to party...what wants a backpacker more???

just the area the hostel is located is a little bit to far away from siteseeing places & rough!

all in all i was very satisfyed with the hostel!!!

The hostel is very nice, with happenings at times that I wasnt' there (like 6.30pm, 7.30pm...) Nice rooms, cleanliness not bad. Nice the bathroom too. The position is kinda uncomfortable because is far from everything (but at least close to the airport!). At least 2 hours to go by bus and metro everytime that I had to move from one area to another one!!

The shuttle bus "24 hours" took until 90 min to pick me up. They said "because of the traffic".

Don't wanna even comment about.

Unfiriendly and rude staff. They don't like their job I think, especially a couple of them.

The service SUCKS!!

This place was an absolute dump, in a terrible suburb, incredibly dirty and the staff knew nothing about the city and public transport. All the "free" items are are joke, and the internet is incredibly expensive to use if you don't have your own laptop. Do not stay here.

Totally worth every dollar. Nice and clean. Because of the 24 hr Shuttle to Airport, Bus and Rail Transfer Station the Position actually isn't that bad. For that price you can't beat it.(All their pledges are true)

Very fun and friendly atmosphere. Rooms were spacious and well equipped, though not luxurious. Heated pool was great and you could tell the owner tries hard. Major points for the free food! I recommend it!

The hostel is quite clean, with bedsheets changed on a daily basis, it is close to LAX airport, so it is ideal for transiting people but to enjoy fully LA it is a bit far from the main attractions. Staff (with the exception of 2 persons) are extremely unhelpful and unknowledgable. I think it is good only for American travellers, but not for foreigners.

great place close to airport, not for people who want silence though, loud music all day long

It's been a good stay. Perfect with free transportation and dinner.

restaurant and bar workers were lovely and really serviceminded! recepcion people could ues some improvement when it comes to smiling and to give information on how to get to the "hotspots" of L.A and Hollywood...

This place was good, loads of freebies and good beds.. great showers too..

Staff were pretty friendly and thank god for the shuttle bus!

All in all was a good affordable hostel, with great free cookies! LA is so spread out so it was a fair hike to any tourist sites. Also too dangerous to head out to bars at night time, was a real downer, thankfully they had a large court yard and pool which was awesome!

Good: nice, clean and big bedrooms.

Always staff to ask your questions.

Bad: There was no wifire acces in the bedrooms. There was no food for vegetarians.

la struttura è accogliente e abbastanza pulita (al pari se non meglio di molti motel non delle grandi catene,ovvio) facile da raggiungere dall'aeroporto e ben posizionato per effettuare le principali visite a L.A. sia sulla costa che in città. Ho qualche problema con un doppio accredito della stanza sulla mia c. credito che spero di risolvere positivamente. Lo consiglierei tranquillamente a chi, ovviamente non usa il lusso degli hotel più blasonati come termine di paragone...

I enjoyed my stay and staff was very helpfull and courteous.

I used the dorm and have the following comment. The shower floor was completely soaked due to a mal adjustment of the shower head. Otherwise no problem. I did not sleep well because of 2 loud snoaring people in a room were the other 18 were very quiet. If I were to run this hostel or the chain I would make the folowing adjustment and NOT ALLOW 'SNOARDERS' TO STAY IN THE DORMS. tHEY SHOULD BE FORCED TO RENT A PRIVATE ROOM BECAUSE IN THIS PARTICULAR CASE THEY SURELY BOTHER THE MAJORITY IN THE DORM ROOM IN THIS CASE THE OTHER 18 'NON SNOARDERS'.

TO IMPLEMENT THIS RULE. EVERYDAY THE A STAFF MEMBER SHOULD DO A QUICK SURVEY AND CONFRONT 'OFFENDERS' AND TELL THEM TO 'MOVE UP' TO THE SUITE. NOWADAYS THERE ARE PLENTY OF SIMPLY PROCEDURES IN PLACE WHERE PEOPLE DON'T SNOAR AS IN THE OLD DAYS. iT SHOULD ALSO BE MADE CLEAR ON THE WEBSITE FOR PEOPLE WHO PREFER TO LODGE ECONOMICALY AS FAR AS DORM LODGING SO THEY DONT FEEL DISCRIMINATED AGAINST. FIX YOUR PROBLEM BEFORE YOU ENTER AND BOOK AN OVERNIGHT DORMSTAY AT THE ADVENTURES SUITES. HOPE THIS IS A REASONABLE REQUEST. OTHERWISE MY DORMSTAY WAS PLEASANT AND COMFORTABLE.

Was a great place to stay the only down side is its in a pretty bad area, wouldnt go out and about at night in Inglewood but apart from that it was a great and fun place to stay
