Casa Del Riccio B&B is born in an ancient country house recently restored and situated in the center of the picturesque village of Calaone. It is tucked away amongst the greenness of the Parco dei Colli Euganei, surrounded by vineyards and chestnut woods.
The Casa rises at an altitude of 200 meters, on a natural terrace in the first hill with a breathtaking view of the plain and of the Este town, which was the cradle of civilization of the Paleovenetian and rich in history and traditions.
In a clear day the Tuscan Emilian Appennines are easy to see.
The house, facing south, is very sunny and welcoming.
It has a strategic position between the cities of Venice, Verona, Ferrara, Bologna, Vicenza and Mantua, each of them reachable in less than an hour, a short way from Padua and from the Abano and Montegrotto thermal zone.
La Casa del Riccio offers theme rooms such as musica, arte, poesia, natura, each of them well furnished and made with attention to the smallest details, private bathroom, TV Sat, wireless service and independent heating system. Daily careful cleaning and towels change.
We have three twin or double rooms, or twin with single use rooms with the possibility to add an extra bed and a cradle on request. We also have a suite (poesia room) with panoramic terrace for personal use.
At the ground floor there are the common spaces
•a big living area to relax and to read with various books and newspapers at the guests’ disposal
•a welcoming kitchen equipped for the buffet breakfast, managed in an autonomous way. There is an oven at your disposal to heat up your food during the long stays
•outside there is a big panoramic garden, equipped for breakfast, for reading, sunbathe and for the relax.
The Casa has only 11 bed accomodations but it is well-equipped and homely, particularly for foreign tourists and it organises special events such as: tastings of typical products and autochthonous wines, wine courses and cooking classes held by experienced sommelier and cooks, guided wine&food itineraries. Moreover it promotes culture thanks to art exhibitions, book presentations, music concerts and performances, soul and body well-being workshops. Our B&B also arranges hinking, cycling tour, nordic walking, horseback riding, slow guided cycling and different itineraries between villas, thermaes and educational farms.
