Descrizione
In a small village outside Antakya, this mud house (beytuturab in Arabic, the language spoken here) offers an interesting alternative to standard hotels. It is owned by Memo Duri and his sister Ferdus, who grew up in this village. When they moved to the city, they missed the traditional lifestyle. They returned, renovated the single-storey mud house and opened it to visitors. It is not a fancy place. It is a genuine earth village house. Here you have to forget modern conveniences and allow yourselves to be drawn to the flavor of the Middle East. The neighborhood is crowded, the streets full of life. People share a communal existence and cook wonderful local dishes. If you happen to be around when they do, they might suggest you join them.
