About us
Alter’hostel is the best way to feel the local life of Lyon with new services. More than a hostel with all services, you’ll have occasion to meet real local people. If you looks for reducing your ecological print, come to Alter’hostel ! We also organize cultural and festive events for our customers with great large beers and surprises. You’ll find all the services of a great hostel (dorms, breakfast, bar, lunch, dinner, shop) and more because we rent bikes, cargo bikes and kayaks to visit Lyon.

Accommodation
Our Alter Hostel is composed of 5 different dormitories, and we can host up to 48 people !
Each beds are equipped by a curtain to let you your own space, a light, a table bed, plugs and lockers. Dorms are also large and luminous. Each room is equipped with bunk beds, heating and air conditioning. Each bed comes with linen and blanket.

There is one bathroom only for men, one bathroom only for women, regular toilets and our famous DRY TOILET : let's try it !

Services and activities
You'll find in our common areas a fully equipped kitchen with boxes to store your food ; a baby-foot, a TV and a free service computer, but also tons of books to read and board games to play with your friend !

Breakfast and bar service are available and we often organise events such as concerts, movies, aperitives and DIY workshops !
You can also go for a free walking tour with 'Lyon Explorer' everyday

Surroundings
Alter’hostel is located along the Saône River, in a very nice place in Lyon. From the docks, you discover our famous “Fourvière” basilica up to you. The postcard is a mix of old stones, water, bridge, colored houses. In front of you, you see another famous place: “Croix Rousse“ ‘hill. The old city is not far and you can have a trip with the “Vaporetto”, the only bus boat of Lyon.

You can find supermarkets and shops around the hostel, and eatings such as pizzas, burgers, kebabs.
