Welcome to Blackcurrant Backpackers, our newly refurbished hostel in the town centre of Taupo!
We are the closest hostel to the bus station and the supermarkets and with the friendliest staff in town to make sure that you have everything you need for a great stay in beautiful Taupo.
Purposely renovated with the new backpacker market in mind, our dorm and share rooms have single beds only and are fully made up with warm and cosy duvets and all have private bathrooms. All of our double rooms have private hotel style bathrooms and boast sprung mattress queen size beds, complete with electric blankets for those chillier evenings!
The new kitchen/dining area is spacious and clean with even an oven for the budding chefs out there! The expansive deck and BBQ area has stunning views over the lake to the Tongariro National Park and our large garden area is just great for chilling out in. We have a Global Gossip internet cafe and WIFI plus a DVD room with flat screen TV. Full laundry facilities are also available.
Our reception staff can also help you plan and book your time in Taupo - from skydiving to soaking in hot pools, walking the Tongariro Crossing to taking in the Maori rock carvings on a cool lake cruise....
