Beijing Templeside Courtyard Hutong House

A lovely local place to stay in a real (non touristy) hutong- on the very handy inner city metro line (line 2).

Very typical but a little bit far from the metro station. Recommended if you are not in a hurry but not recommanded if you want to visit as much as possible in a very short stay

Really not easy to find, no public kitchen, nice and helpfull staff. Stayed in deluxe room.

Staf charmant et efficace. On peut poser n'importe quelle question. Ils trouveront toujours une solution.

Les chambres très propres. Quelques taches d'humidité mais c'est logique dans les hutons. Malheureusement les matelas sont très durs. Le sanitaire très propre.

I am a Chinese born American who has never been to Beijing and has never stayed in a hostel before. My stay at Templeside was one of the things that made my stay in Beijing unforgettable. Talking to the staff and other guests was fun, though you have to initiate conversation. Also, I can speak relatively fluent Chinese so that helped communication, though the staff know English well enough. Fun and novel place at a convenient location.

Nice location and rooms around courtyard. Very safe and seclued from road. My only disappointment was that they were not able to arrange a taxi from the hotel to the railway station. Luckily I could carry all my bags to the main road to find a taxi.

It couldn't be any better in Beijing for such lovely Chinese characteristic accommodation!

Very good accomodation, in a central position in the city, situated in the old and original Hutong....where tourists can see the real old chinese life outside the commercial part of the city.

The room was really good and staffs were very kind to us.We could make dumplings and eat them with Bobby and other staffs for free!!

The location of the hostel is a little bit difficult to find,but once you're used to the town it's very convinient.Metro station is about 10 minutes walk from the hostel.

Auberge de jeunesse trés bien située, à 10 minutes en taxi de la CIté Interdite. Dans un petit hutong trés calme. Personnel parlant anglais et prêt à rendre service (ne pas hésiter à les interroger). Une bonne adresse et un bon rapport qualité prix. Petit déjeuner possible (en supplément).

Beautiful quaint hostel in a quite and clean hutong. Staff were great and extremely helpful in arranging onward travels.

I have never seen the better hotel or hostel than this hostel before.The staves are very smart,warm and kind.They helped me every time I have a problem and always give me nice plan.They did everything very much more than I had hoped.I could enjoy my travel completely because of this hostel.

Beijing's September is beautiful, but this guesthouse make me feel even more fantastic. The old house hidden in hutong with a garden is so quiet, calm, elegant and beautiful. Everywhere is very neat and clean, and the staff are really great. Thanks booby, thanks for all the help. Highly recommended place!

Templeside is well located, clean, fairly priced... what more could I say! The owner offers all the service you could possibly ask for: airport pick up, internet, ticket reservation, you name it. They also organise private and semi private tour that gives you an authentics look at the Beijing area, no flag no microphone , no big crouds, the real thing. Ho yeah, and most importantly, it gives you the opportunity to enter a genuine Beijing hutong. To be realistic, it's a bit hard to find and the breakfast could be better.

so lovely a little hostel,clean and nice. not like others in a mordern building, it is a garden house in a old Hutong, very Chinese, Very Beijing. The owner and his wife are so nice couple, much fun there, I like it.
