Sønderborg has an exciting shopping/café life. The new university centre, Alsion, has a 1001 seat concert hall. Near Danhostel Sønderborg-Vollerup are 3 golf courses, good cycling paths and angling waters, fishing cutters for hire and 'put and take' angling. Small paths and roads lead from the hotel to the forest, Augustenborg Fjord
and the centre of Sønderborg.
