The Hotel Nettuno is situated in Via Sedile di Porto, one of the more important Neapolitan roads historically,since the Greek-Roman times.
The road intersects what anciently had been called 'Cardines of the Alexandrines', actual Via Mezzocannone, that connected the three 'Decumanis' with the ancient port.


The hotel Neptune owes his name to the famous monumental statue of the God Nettuno, realized in 1599 by Michelangelo Naccherino,visible in the adjacent Via Medina.
