The BackpackShack

We couldn't recommend the backpckshack more! It had such a homely feel and excellent staff and one of the cleanest I've stayed in :)

Staff were warm and talkative. The hostel was nicely located and easily accessible to London's central area by bus. The accommodation was very good value for the budget traveller. There was heating in the upper bedroom, however areas were coldish, probably in the mornings. There was no heating before about 1pm. There was a pub downstairs which offered company and a convivial atmosphere. It would probably more suitable for a stay in Spring or Summer.

Great hostel, great host by the owner. Very cleen , cheap because there are two bathrooms, one kitchen. I love it and I recommend.

Good choice for a short stay. Helpful and polite staff, clean and adequate price for volume. I could come back here again :)

It's just really far from the center of London

Quite nice place for its price. Especially staff are very kind and hospitable.

Margaret was very helpful. Pub below is quiet & friendly. Kitchen very well equiped but not much seating. They let me leave my bike box for a month which was kind. Great value, quiet & close to plenty of shops.

A lovely small hostel. Very peaceful, with just a couple of rooms. Sharing the bathroom was no problem. The staff was absolutely amazing, we were really looked after. Definitely worth the money, would stay again!

Ottimo per chi non ha molte pretese. Ben collegato con la metro. I dintorni sono fantastici. Il responsabile è molto simpatico e generoso.

Derek was the best, he did everything he could to please us, near there are 2 metro stations, in the week it´s better to use acton town station

solo a pochi minuti dalla tube, e vicinissimo al centro di acton dove ci sono negozi, bar, ristoranti ecc..Io ci sono stato per 6 notti, le camere sono molto accoglienti, tutti gli spazi sono molto puliti, Derek è molto cortese e disponibile.

Da ritornarci assolutamente.

Derek was a great host, even agreed to get up earlier than usual to unlock the kitchen for us before we went to work, lovely hostel, homely, safe, has everything you need it to!

Hôtel très propre. Excellent accueil, le propriétaire est très sympa et très serviable. Un des meilleurs hôtel où j'ai pu rester à Londres.

Polecam wszystkim ten hostel, przemiła obsługa, świetny klimat, cisza i spokój. Okolica jest spoko, blisko do metra.

Staff was super friendly, very kind and provided us with necessesary things(extra blanket, connector for euro sockets, hairdryer). We were also allowed to leave our luggage there altough we had already checked out. Good wifi. Good location, near to underground.

Only little bit cold in this time of year.

Really enjoyed my stay at The Backpackshack, nice, clean and affordable hostel in London. Have been in few of them and this one is the best, I will go back there on y next trip.

Absolutely super place. Very well located near Acton High Street shops, restaraunts and transport. Confortable rooms plus a well kitted out kithchen above a bar - what more could you ask for?

This place is good value for money, with very helpful and friendly staff. For budget accommodation it is comfortable and (despite being above a pub) quiet. Minor drawbacks include the kitchen only being officially open after 9am (which is unhelpful for accessing your breakfast if you want to get out early) and the cleanliness of the bathrooms (they are best treated by guests as public toilets). The hot water supply is also rather limited, so showering early is key. There are also no bins in the rooms. On the whole however, we got our money's worth and, in this price range, is recommended!

The Backpackshack is a perfect place to stay if you want to visit London. It's located 10 minutes walking from the Acton Town's Metro Station (Picadilly and District Line). It's perfect if you come from Heathrow Airport(Picadilly Line, only 7 stops). The hostel is located over a Pub, but the area it's very quite, so we slept without any problem. We booked for a private three-beds room, which was comfortable and clean. Every floor has own bathrooms which are clean. By Picadilly Line you can get the most important attractions in less than 30 minutes, so I really recommended you.

Ottima accoglienza, proprietari disponibilissimi. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo. Bagno sempre pulitissimo. 5 minuti a piedi dalla fermata dalla metro e prendendo la linea district si raggiunge in poco tempo il centro della città. Ci torneró sicuramente :)

Second time in BackPackShack after 3 years, this time with my wife in a double room. We confirm the positive impressions. Good position (30 min to centre by tube), really nice staff, clean rooms and bathroom, well-equipped kitchen. There is a nice and quiet pub downstairs (we have even studied inside during the afternoon!). Perfect for the price. Definetely reccomended!

Il soggiorno a The Talbot è stato molto gradevole. Derek, il proprietario, e tutto lo staff sono stati disponibilissimi e molto gentili! Abbiamo avuto alcuni imprevisti e Derek ci ha aiutato molto a risolvere la situazione. Per quanto riguarda l'ostello si trova in una zona molto tranquilla e carina dove si respira l'aria Britannica, difficile da sentire a Londra! Inoltre c'è un supermercato nelle vicinanze dove poter fare la spesa! Le camere sono carine e tranquille! Consigliatissimo!!!

All in all, descent hostel with clean rooms. Downside when staying there, was during the stay you could not lock the toilet, so one always had to stay guard. Also the shower was not working properly, way to hot and not adjustable. Other then that, it's okay to stay for 2-3 night. Free coffee and tea was nice also

Lovely quiet area, clean rooms and bathrooms, kitchen would be alright to self cater in. Close to Acton town tube station. Really friendly helpful staff. Enjoyed our stay.

We were generally satisfied. There was just one bathroom for at least 3 rooms, sometimes it was not enough. Derek was fine. Room were clean. There was poor amount of dishes in kitchen and it was not so nice.

This place was really nice! Great staff and really kind and they gave you that home from a home feeling. Liked to spend the afternoons in the bar and just embrace the real london feeling! Thanks for everything guys!

The double room was comfortable with a big bed, clean, spacious and quiet. The hostel is nice and has a kitchen full equiped.

Staff (Derek) is a nice guy , funny and helpful. He gave us some valuable tips regarding London.

It's little far from city center, but by the underground it's easy and fast to get there. All the necessary stuff like supermarkets, restaurants, fast food, metro and bus stations are within a 5 minute walk from the hostel.

And the Wifi works fine and fast! Really important! ;)

Ante todo decir que para el precio es insignificante para la calidad humana de Dereck y su madre, los propietarios. Un trato personalizado, una amabilidad que te hace sentir como si los conocieras de toda la vida.Recomiendo el hostal al 110 por 100.

Sincerely recommended for staying in London. Hostel not so crowded, rooms clean and with a staff really kind and helpful. There's the underground station "Acton town" just in a few minutes of walk (it's covered by District and Picadilly line).

Il gestore é cordialissimo e disponibilissimo. La struttura é un po vecchiotta e molto essenziale, ma nel complesso per soggiornare qualche giorno va più che bene. A Londra con questo prezzo, di meglio non credo potete trovare.

It is a very good hostel.the maneger is a nice and honest man.we enjoy living for five days in this acommodation and it is very cheap also.

We spend a great time here. The best thing on Backpackshack is great and realy kind staff :-)

super friendly staff, good location (supermarket, restaurants, pubs and bus station just a 1 minute walk away) and cheap. the Rooms are fine But the bathrooms and the kitchen should be cleaned better, especially fridges and microwaves. Still a nice hostel!
