Hostelling International Chicago

Very big, but also a good hostel, in the middle of downtown, close to the L-station, clean with nice common rooms and nice breaky. The funny and awesome thing about the breakfast is that you can sit at your coffee and watch the L-trains passing by - which i did all the time, all days. It's not a cozy small hostel, but a good one, more like a big company - many guests - many rooms.

This is an excellent hostel because of its location and facilities

It has a community feel about it.

The front desk treat you like human beings.

There is a good feeling about this place.

Necesitan renovarse,lo sillones de la sala de juegos tienen todo tipo de manchas,las esponjas ya no dan mas,deberian disponer de personal que hable otros idiomas importantes en EE UU,demasiada gente para compartir un solo baño,sin embargo debo reconacer que como franquicia seria excelente y me interesaria.

Muy bien en casi todo,limpieza,desayunos,instalaciones,pero es un poco aburrido,no se permiten bebidas alcoholicas

I was super impressed with Hostel itself and also lcation was more than awesome. I hope to stay in Hostelling International on my next trip!!!

Negativo:

1.No reponen nunca las toallas, si no las pides estas con la misma durante toda la instancia.

2.El hecho de que no haya habitaciones con baño incluido es un gran handicap

3.El aire acondicionado no se puede regular desde tu habitacion si no has tenido la suerte de que el boton de on/off este en tu habitacion

Positivo:

1.Relación calidad-precio buena

2.Desayuno bastante decente para el precio

Bathrooms are pretty shitty mouldy shower curtains and such also there is only 2 showers per floor which in our room there was 10 girls there is about 10 rooms on each floor so they should probably invest in some more. The location is amazing and the bar crawl was really fun apart from that though the staff are pretty unfriendly and not very helpful at the front desk. Breakfast is pretty good and the kitchen is fantastic.

Después de viajar durante un mes por los Estados Unidos y de haber dormido en muchos sitios diferentes, puedo decir que ninguno ha estado tan bien en todos los sentidos como este albergue. Limpio, céntrico, con muchos servicios y actividades, seguro...

il posto è perfetto: solo 5 minuti da Millennium Park e dal Chicago Theatre. Lo staff è cortese e disponibile. L'ostello è ben tenuto e molto pulito. Essendo molto grande si ha la possibilità di conoscere persone. CI si diverte ed è dotato di qualsiasi confort: la linea wifi in tutto l'ostello e per cho non avesse il portatile, una postazione fissa pc. Un'unica pecca per chi avesse difficoltà nel dormire, la metro sopraelevata praticamente attaccata all'ostello, ma io ho dormito benissimo! In generale, dunque, un ottimo ostello.

Very safe, convenient location, friendly staff, wifi is good.

Only negative is bathroom was not very clean and very few showers.

I have stayed in many hostels and HI Chicago was by far one of my favorites!It was clean, friendly, and a great location, close to the center of it all! I would definitely suggest staying here... it's a GREAT deal for the price!

There is nice place for traveler.

But During the time I stayed there, It was hard to use the internet in the hostel.

Definitely the best hostel I've ever stayed in. Really good free breakfast, lots of staff organized tours and events and many cool international travelers to hang out with. I strongly recommend HI Chicago!

The only problem is because my room 409 is close to CTA train line. So the train is 24H and the noise is huge.

It's too cold. TOO COLD.

I just needed a place to stay for one night. The guy who checked me in was really kind and helpful. The room was a little cold but was clean,the bed was comfortable and a clean bathroom was a plus!! :0)

staff amichevole, ben organizzato, posizione ottima e molti tour guidati gratuiti proposti.

I stayed to in two different rooms here (one booked through your system and the other booked through HI's system). The room and bathroom booked through your system was by far cleaner than the other room and bathroom I had. I don't know why there would be this difference in cleanliness but there is.

Auberge trés plaisante avec tout le confort qu'il faut! Casier à l'accueil pour déposer les valises si on est en avance, personnel agréable, chambre et pièces communes trés spacieuses, bon petit déjeuner, des activités sont proposées tout les jours! Et proche du centre et de tout les points d'intérêt de la ville! Trés bon séjour

全体的に良い雰囲気だったが、スタッフの対応が悪すぎる。個人灯が壊れているのに、直してくれないし、チェックインタイムもちっきりしすぎていて、機会人間的な人が働いている。ホステルの建物や食事にはとても満足です。

I can definitely recommend this hostel. It's the best hostel I've been so far. The rooms were clean and the staff was really helpful...

There is just one bad point: Internet access is only available in the 2nd floor lobby and the connections is very poor. I lost it quite a few times...

I am going to get to 200 caracters. I only have to say, it's a cool place, the people there are nice and serving; there is always some one doesn't like you or you don't like him, but there is no personal stories; professionally they do things right, and more, to satisfy your needs as client. then just one step out there is Cafecito cafe, it is a beautiful place with beautiful people, so nice and kind, food hummm, and service with a big real smile... have a nice sejours there guys

It's a really good place for students.

For my review I suggest to read the comment in the lonely planet chicago.

Besides: When I wanted to check in, I had to wait for more than 30 min., although there were 3 staff behind the counter: (1) dealing with a guest, (2) eating, (3) at the computer. Then I had to ask to change my room four times, as it was never the one I booked. Staff response is really low - checkout was even worse.

But except for that and the slow Internet, the Hostel is ok.
