Budapest is a city that is often defined with two souls, one tied to the past and one linked to modernity. Buda and Pest, two sides of the same coin, although so different from each other. On one side there is Buda, the ancient city, and the other is Pest, the new and modern city.

Before leaving, surely, you will be asked what to see in Budapest and there are so many things to see, but let's find out them step by step.

BUDAPEST PARLIAMENT

The Parliament is a magnificent neo-Gothic building, which overlooks the Danube from Pest riverbank. If the outside already takes your breath away, the interior is no exception, in fact, the visit will leave you dumbfounded, your eyes will not know where to turn to admire all the tapestries and frescos of Hungarian artists.

BUDA CASTLE

The Buda Castle, the residence of Hungarian rulers, is located on the opposite side of the Parliament, on the other side of Danube, on top of a hill.

The rulers have lived here for 700 years, today the castle hosts, however, several museums: the Hungarian National Gallery, the Budapest History Museum and the National Széchenyi Library.

SYNAGOGUE OF BUDAPEST

This is the largest synagogue in Europe and it is located in the Jewish quarter of Budapest, inside it there is also the Jewish Museum.

CHURCH OF SANTO STEFANO

This is the largest church in the city of Budapest and you will definitely include it among the things to see here. A curiosity: in it, the church, preserves the most important relic of the Hungarians, the Holy Right, the mummified arm of the first Hungarian Catholic king.

THE BRIDGE OF CHAINS

You surely had seen it a million times in a lot of photos around the web, that's right, that's the bridge with two lions at the sides. The Chain Bridge is not only the best known in Budapest, but also the oldest and the first to connect for the first time the two parts of the city divided by the river.

THE SQUARE OF HEROES

It is one of the most important squares of Budapest, where is located the Museum of Fine Arts and the Műcsarnok Art Gallery.

THE BUDAPEST SPAS

You'd not imagined it? Also Budapest is a spa town with several spa facilities but the one that you must-see is the Széchenyi Spa.

THE FISHERMEN'S BASTION

Imposing, strong, it is a white bastion, which owes its name to the guild of fishermen who once had the task of defending this part of the walls.
