Almendares Hostal

El dueño de la casa no me parece un buen anfitrión. Nos controlaba mucho los movimientos, el ingreso y la salida. Necesité un mecánico de bicicletas y núnca me informó que tenía uno en frente de la casa. Tuve que recorrer todo el barrio para encontrarlo sola.

O quarto em que ficamos é muito bom: grande, limpo inicialmente e bem arejado. O banheiro é bom também. O dono da casa, seu Oscar, é muito simpático e prestativo. Nossa única crítica é que ficamos 12 dias e nesse meio tempo o quarto e o banheiro não foram limpos nenhuma vez - apenas as roupas de cama foram trocadas. Ao final de uma semana o quarto estava com muita poeira e o banheiro sujo. Seria bom se o quarto fosse limpo de tempos em tempos. Mas independente disso a estadia foi muito boa. Recomendo!

Accueil très sommaire, pas de petit déjeuner, pourtant style Casa particulare, excellent pour se faire proposer un taxi avec majoration, c'est tout, a fuir ! Seulement proche de la place de la Révolution

Me hospede en la casa familiar Almendares, es un sector popular, ruidoso, atrás esta el terminal de buses que van a las afueras de la Habana, esta retirado de lugares de interes para el turista, esta a 20 minutos de la plaza de la revolución. Lo que se paga por la pagina para reservar, es para la pagina, llegando allá tuve que pagar mas, eso nadie lo dice, un enredo entre pesos cubanos y euros.

We stayed there for 3 nights. Beautiful building close to Plaza Revolution and walking distance to Havana Vieja. Nice host, good value for money. Definitely recommend.

There was a lot of noise from the construction work insight the house next to our door and the room was a bit dark and humid.

The owner explained us the ways to the centre, we could leave the baggage before the check in and after check-out, also he organised a taxi to the airport.

But the atmosphere in total was not as warm as in other casas.

Oscar nos atendio de maravilla. 100% recomendable. Ubicacion perfecta, zona tranquila a escasos 15 min andando a la zona de habana vieja. Quedamos encantadas!

La casa es una preciosidad por la arquitectura que conserva. Los anfitriones son muy amables , en especial Oscar que siempre está dispuesto a compartir sus experiencias y recuerdos sobre La Habana. Nosotros estuvimos muy a gusto hospedados allí, tienes acceso al transporte y andado hasta La Habana vieja son 20.

La pasamos muy bien en Almendares Hostal. El servicio fue muy bueno y el cuarto siempre estaba limpio. Recibimos muy buenas recomendaciones de Oscar, nuestro anfitrión. Esta ubicación funcionó muy bien para nosotros porque estábamos a casi la misma distancia de Habana Vieja y de Vedado, que eran los lugares que más visitábamos. Además, el hostal estaba justo frente a una cafetería con los mejores sandwiches de jamón y queso. Definitivamente nos volveríamos a hospedar allí.

It's beautiful place with marble columns, staned glass lamps, crystal chandelier and great terrace. Me and my boyfriend love to sit on terrace with rum and refresca national (tu cola is great!) and look in old Havana. Senior Oscar is great, he can answer all you questions and give you useful advice. When we were out and it's started to rain he get our stuff from terrace inside the house so it won't get wet. Near his place is great cafeteria (papa pedro), shopping center carlos III, you can easily go to old city or get taxi. We simply love it. I really recommend it.

The casa is a 30 min walk from the old part of Havana. The room is only accesible through the house. The room is not expensive, and you'll get value for your money. Breakfast is rather poor, although they only charge 3 cuc.

Lovely high ceilings, great house, Oscar was very helpful on arrival. Slightly out of town but Havana is pretty easy to walk! Close to Revolution square.

Het was goedkoop en dan krijg je dus ook waar je voor betaalt. Het is schoon, maar erg eenvoudig. De douche en toilet hadden een muur die niet doorgebouwd was tot het plafond, waardoor je iets te weinig privacy met je reisgenoten had. Het enthousiasme en de liefde voor mensen die we overal in Cuba tegekwamen ontbraken.

Dus liever iets meer geld uitgeven, voor een overnachting.

Das Hostal ist sehr schmuddelig und in einen schlechten Zustand. Fruehstueck sehr kaerglich. Besitzer hilfsbereit.

Es un excelente lugar, muy céntrico y la atención de Don Óscar es de lo más calida, no pude haber estado en mejor hostal. Es 100% recomendable. Sin duda regresaría.

Ein tolles Haus, sehr schönes Zimmer und sehr bequeme Betten! Es liegt etwas außerhalb vom Zentrum, dafür ist es nachts nicht so laut ;) Der Besitzer konnte uns gute Tipps geben (für Zigarren zb) und war sehr hilfsbereit. Auch war es kein Problem, unsere Taschen noch für einen Tag im Hostel zu lassen. Einziger Nachteil, der mich wirklich sehr gestört hat, war, dass wir keinen eigenen Hausschlüssel bekamen. Man war darauf angewiesen, dass immer jemand zuhause ist und konnte nachts nicht spontan nochmal losziehen, weil die Haustür verschlossen war... Sehr schade! Besonders wenn man seinen Flug bekommen muss und vor einer verschlossenen Tür steht :/

Gute leb Zimmer für einen fairen Preis, aber deshalb kann man ja auch nicht viel erwarten.

A very nice host, Oscar. Location a 7, because the street doesn't give a good first inpression. But after all it was a peacefull street. You can walk to the historical center. A nice old house for a good price! Thanx Oscar!

Oscar is such an amazing person who gave us very useful information about every doubt we had in all our staying. We reccomend this place because his attention, his willingness to help, the price of the room and his tips helped us to enjoy and to be safe in this trip. Defenetely coming back Almendares Hostal again next summer!!!

Wir kamen nachts um halb drei an, was gar kein Problem war. Müdestrunken hat uns der Hausbesitzer empfangen. Wir hatten zwei wirklich schöne Nächte in dem Hostal. Haben viele Empfehlungen bekommen und wurden mit anderen Gästen für die Weiterreise vermittelt. Ich würde das Hostal weiterempfehlen!

Das Frühstück war mehr als dürftig, das Hostel selber liegt schon etwas weit ab vom Schuss (Altstadt), allerdings gibt es weder an der Sauberkeit noch an der Freundlichkeit der Hostelbesitzer etwas zu meckern. Alles in allem ein toller Aufenthalt!

Staying here was a horrible experience! Our host yelled at us and stole our money!

Our host yelled at us and refused to let us speak, he made us feel so uncomfortable, like we couldn't even speak to him.

And one day when we were out he stole some money that we had left on our bed and when we asked him about it, he yelled at us and threatened to kick us out. He also didn't keep any of his promises about booking us accommodation elsewhere. Do yourself a favour and stay somewhere else!

Amable familia con una bonita casa que tiene habitaciones en el primer y segundo piso. Queda a 30 min caminando del Malecón y La Habana Vieja, pero es agradable caminar por La Habana. El dueño de casa tiene todos los datos que necesitas saber.

Ruime kamer op goede locatie, circa 30 minuten lopen tot oude centrum. Badkamer is bescheiden en erg basic maar naar Cubaanse verhoudingen okay. Gastheer Oscar is hulpvaardig en heeft tal van goede tips.

Lugar acolhedor. Sr. Oscar é muito atencioso e dá todas as dicas de como se locomover por Havana, onde comer, horário de funcionamento dos principais serviços. Fiquei com minha família e recomendo fortemente. Fica próximo à Praça da Revolução e da Quinta de los Molitos. E longe do assédio sofrido por turistas na Havana Vieja.

Oscar, el dueño de casa, es un tipico cubano agradable, con buenas recomendaciones. Su casa es segura para dejar maletas. Muy cerca de la casa hay un quiosco. Abierto hasta tarde.

My Brother and I stayed at Oscars Casa for quite a while. After he explained us the way into old-twon Havanna it took us 20 min on foot. Oscar and his family a very nice and helpful in every way. the rooms (stayed in 2 different ones) were clean and had air-con. I can totally recommend his casa. -Richard from Germany
