The only regret I have: that I didn't stay all length of my trip at Walter Rooms. I had to compare my stays in Rome:
1. at expensive hotel,
2.and at a mid range hotel,
3.with Walter Rooms.
Walter rooms were better. It just was not looking expensive. But it is not about a looks ,- what is important, isn't it?
1. Most important for me is value for money.
When I was checking out from expensive hotel,- I got VERY high additional bill with city fees and taxes. When I did stay at mid range hotel,- fees and taxes were still steep, on top of linen/towel hire!
Walter rooms city tax was pleasantly low. Partly because it has a lowest price even compare to other hostels.
Your money can stretch for much longer in Walter Rooms.
2. WIFI was 10 times better that in expensive hotel!!!!!! Never had any problems in Walter Rooms. WIFI was a main reason I checked out from expensive hotel. I did try in few hotels and hostels (I had work to do online), - but Walter Rooms was fastest.
3. Location absolutely incredible: short walk to Termini station or couple stops ride on a tram,- from door to door.
A lot of roads in a center of Rome are cobblestone roads. After rolling a suitcases for longer time, to/from other hotels,- I learned to appreciate Walter Rooms,- how short is a walk and how good is a surface of road.
4.Other hostels what I looked in,- did not had elevator. Walter Rooms, - has. (I hate to drug my luggage upstairs.)
5. Walter and his staff were so kind to guests. This review will be too long if I will describe it.
6. It was plenty of free food offered to a guests (even the one what Walter was cooking for himself and his girlfriend!!!).
7. It was very easy to find and to get into a hostel, because:
a) I read ALL email what was send to me after booking. Everything was explained.
b)I put arrival time into my booking. I wrote email and called upon arrival.
It is a small hostel (not a big chain) at a center of Rome,- of cause arrival time has to be organised!
8. Quiet building with thick walls, quiet street. Good sleep at night.
9. Mosquito net on window. Result ,- no mosquitoes in Walter Rooms. My expensive hotel was a nightmare!
10. Hot shower. Ensuite bathroom in a female dorm, so it is no need to get dressed to go to bathroom. Extra bathroom is available in hallway.
11. High ceilings with a thick walls, with fan. Because of it,- one day when it was plus 36 C outside,- it was OK inside Walter Rooms.
Overall it is a 5 stars quality for modest price and modest looking tiny hostel. If you used to big hotels/ hostels,- pay more and book there. I would came back to Walter Rooms. I highly recommend it to others.

L'appartamento di via Carlo Alberto 24 ha una buona posizione e buona é la dislocazione delle stanze.
L'appartamento di fatto é gestito da indiani che non parlano l'italiano e non conoscono cosa sia la pulizia.
Ovunque sporco, e bagno maleodorante con scarichi sempre intasati.
I letti quando disponibili vengono affittati a connazionali che dormono vestiti senza avere effettuato il cambio della lenzuola.
Un consiglio? Se volete soggiornare a Roma spendete un euro in più ma cercate altrove dove alloggiare.

Bella camera con bagno privato, tutto molto pulito. Staff cordiale e socievole, offre l' utilizzo della cucina in comune dotata di tutte le comodità. Ve lo consiglio per passare un gradevole soggiorno a due passi dalla metropolitana Vittorio Emanuele e vicino alla stazione di Roma Termini

When you ask for something (e.g. remote control for air cond., password for wifi), don't believe them, when they tell it doesn't work! Keep on asking. Eventually it always did work. This behaviour of the staff was very disappointing. The rest was ok.

Cuando uno llega no hay nadie que lo reciba, las personas que están ahi no están pendientes del timbre. Las personas que viven en uno de los apartamentos tienen sucia la cocina y cocinan muy de noche dejando olores muy fuertes.

This place was pretty great. I do need to mention that I was moved from one of the houses to another when I first arrived (when Walter found out I was traveling alone, he wanted to put me in a female only dorm in a less busy house, which was thoughtful.) It was right near the metro, had complimentary breakfast, and you cant beat that price in Rome! Walter really cares about the well being of his tenants. It was just a little dingy, but clean. Everything was just well worn, especially in the full kitchen. If you are looking for a comfortable bed, a helpful host,a decent breakfast,and good location, you found your place!

Walter rooms sono dei paraculi!!, io sono stato trasferito in una loro ostello succursale dopo un' ora di attesa, non parlano italiano!! usano foglio e penna x le prenotazioni!! il loro ingresso e' fatiscente e disordine ovunque!!nel posto dove ho alloggiato sono capitato in una camera singola e pulita e buona posizione, ma e' stata solo fortuna!! la scorrettezza di walter e prendere tante prenotazioni e poi smistarli da loro amici che hanno posto, in posti un po' fuori mano...

grazie di questo bel commento nonostante il prezzo pagato di solo 20 euro per il sabato 20 giugno a roma centro non c'era posto per la enorme richiesta venuta improvvisamente per il concerto dei rolling stone ,il signore ha approfittato di una camera da solo invece del posto letto in dormitorio da lui riservato e nonostante avesse apprifittato della nostra generosità e disponibilità a garantire comunque un alloggio migliore di quello da lui pagato ,ebbene impagabile ci smerda con con questo commento offensivo e infame ,ci definisce "paraculi" quando ha preso da noi molto piu di quello pagato, insultando il nostro lavoro di assicurare sempre e comunque un alloggio dignitoso ai nostri ospiti.Veramente una vergogna approfittare del nostro lavoro e vedere questi commenti disprezzanti e maligni.Vergogna.

Tengo que admitir que no puedo opinar sobre la limpieza y la calidad, tengo que decir que NO RECOMIENDO A NADIE QUE VAYA. Reservé en este lugar dos semanas antes y al llegar ahí fui atendida por una mujer que con tono burlón nos decía a varioas huéspedes que no quedaban habitaciones y que nos buscasmos la vida. En definitiva, una tomadura de pelo, ya que te ves en Roma sin un lugar en el que pasar la noche.

Byliśmy zameldowani w Walter Guest House na via Carlo Alberto, na której bezpośrednio znajduje się przystanek głównej linii metra A. 10 min od Coloseum i Forum Romanum. Położenie to największy atut tego miejsca.
Personel komunikatywny, pomocny. Codziennie rano trochę słodkości na śniadanie i kawa z ekspresu.
Przedpokój trochę brudny bo wspólny ale pokoje czyste i przygotowane. W tej cenie wybór bardzo dobry. Polecam osobom, które chcąc zwiedzać całe dnie Rzym, potrzebują pokój tylko na prysznic i wyspanie się.

El hostel no está mal teniendo en cuenta el precio. Lo que se oferta en su página: desayuno, sábanas, toallas...se ajusta a lo que se da. Ante cualquier problema están dispuestos a ayudarte, a pesar de la dificultad del idioma.
Está muy cerca de Termini, pero a 30 minutos andando del centro (Navona, fontana de Trevi, Trastevere...)
Para hacer un viaje barato a Roma, está bien.

La ubicacion es buena, cerca de la terminal de trenes, lugar barato para comprar comida; el problema es que cuando reservas te cobran el 10% y el restante es lo que ellos deberian cobrarte luego, pero no es asi, ellos te crobran el 100% osea terminas pagando 110% del total. tiene varios hostel por la zona, no importa cual reserves, te toca el que este desocupado, como yo reserve el que se veia peor, no me sorprendio lo que me toco, pero a mis compagneras de cuarto habian hecho reserva en un lugar mejor y les toco algo peorcito... en fin, es un hostal, solo para dorimr y cocinar, por el precio es barato y buena ubicacion, a pesar de todo eso lo recomiendo.

camera matrimoniale: si trova in un condominio che sembra di essere a china town, loro non parlano una parola di italiano, e andare a roma e non parlare italiano mi sembra una barzelletta, sembravamo espatriati. la camera era una semplice camera matrimoniale, ma il problema era la puzza, sia delle lenzuola che del bagno, che puzzava in maniera molto forte di fogna. se non altro era in una posizione ottimale vicino alla stazione e alla fermata della metro della linea rossa, quinci comodissimo. non consigliato.

But it's not clean and very cold blanket and just in the room too cold at the winter time. Recommend to take another blanket with you:)

Sul sito hostelsclub.com era evidenziata la presenza di un parcheggio interno, cosa non veritiera e che mi ha creato molto disagio, avendo scelto questa struttura per la suddetta ragione.
Gli standard di pulizia della camera non rappresentano certamente quelli a cui gli italiani sono abituati.
Il bagno condiviso era uno sgabuzzino, e abbiamo dovuto pagare qualcosa in più per avere il bagno in stanza, dal quale proveniva uno sgradevole odore di fogna.
La colazione non era invitante, abbiamo preferito farla all'esterno.
Soggiorno da dimenticare.

Commento completamente cattivo e falso.I signori hanno riservato una camera doppia con bagno condiviso nel corridio,ovviamente ad un prezzo leggermente inferiore di solo 5 euro al giorno,ma invece signori pretendevano la camera con il bagno privato dentro la camera allo stesso prezzo della camera con bagno condiviso riservato,da qui si evidenzia il tipo di persone che sono arrivate.Nonostante avevo informato in anticipo con email il piccolo supplemento di solo 5 euro per il bagno privato,questi signori neanche volevano pagare la tassa di soggiorno di 2 euro al giorno per persona,notoriamente un supplemento al prezzo riservato.
Stessa pretesa gratis riguarda il percheggio coperto=indoor parking,che come indicato nei simboli dei servizi offerti nella pagina di hostelsclub.com si riferisce solo alla presenza del servizio ma non si specifica se gratuito o a pagamento,ma nonostante avessi mandato una email di spiegazione con molto anticipo che noi ci serviamo di un garage privato vicino ,ancora pretendevano con arroganza il parcheggio interno a gratis,senza parole.La colazione a buffet a volonta come indicato nella pagina descrizione con cornetti ,plumcake,cereali,pane fresco,fette biscottate ,marmellata ,burro,latte ,caffe ,succo de frutta ,thé etc etc .Cosa dobbiamo dare di piu per invitarli a colazione non lo so. Meglio dimenticare questo tipo di turisti .

Сперва этот индус забрал мой паспорт для регистрации, я пошла в ванную. Выхожу через 2 минуты, а квартира пустая! Никакого нет! Ужасная паника!!! Чуть ли не вызвала полицию! Пришел как ни в чем не бывало через минут 10! Вот УРОД!

we were 2 girls from the czech republic there in the hostel and we were totally satisfied by what we got for that money..no problem at all although we had to be moved for the last night due to technical reasons..we thank the staff for a nice service!
