Located in the heart of the UNESCO World Heritage Jungfrau region, the Mountain Hostel Gimmelwald is simply love at first sight. Buzzing with travellers from around the world, it is quite common to come here for a day and stay for weeks. With perfect access to the many hiking trails from our front door, we also make a great base for outdoor activities such as paragliding, rafting, via ferrata, and more. The hostel seems to attract a certain type of traveller – social, fun, respectful and adventurous with a love for the natural beauty that the Alps provide. A photographers dream, Gimmelwald is a place you really have to see to believe. The easygoing and fun environment at the hostel leads to memories and friends that last a lifetime. In the evenings you will find travellers playing cards and games, guitar and piano, or sharing tales from that days hike. It’s amazing to see familiar faces that come back every year sitting side by side with new travellers in awe of the view, having a beer on the deck as the sun sets on the mountains. The Mountain Hostel will be the highlight of your trip and an unforgettable experience.

A cosy place where backpackers find their home, and feel the special atmosphere. A self-catering kitchen, a common room, restaurant, pool table, free internet, free Wi-Fi and many nice people will be happy to see you! Simple and comfortable dorm rooms with a breath taking view.

Termeni și condiții

You have the opportunity to book a men's or women's dorm. If you travel as a couple, you can also stay in a mixed room. In mixed dorms only double beds are available (2 beds are right next to each other, close to the person you travel with, especially made for couples and lovers)!
If you are traveling with children, we cannot offer you a private family room. There is no discount for children, but call ahead and we will aim to find a family-friendly solution!

Note that Gimmelwald can only be reached by cable car. Consult the schedule so as not to miss the last connection (the schedule can be found here: www.sbb.ch)!
