A&O Hamburg Hauptbahnhof

Almost like a hotel, comfortable beds, nice bathroom and shower facilities in my 6-beds room. Definitely clean, you get clean sheets and towels upon arrival. nice lobby downstairs free wifi and computers, bar, etc. Only bad remark is about the staff: you must pay upon arrival which I find unusual, and I was not notified about this before I arrived. I arrived around 1 am, didn't have Euros on me and I wasn't notified that I had to pay upon arrival. I had Danish currency on me, amounting to more than what I had to pay for the hostel, I suggested I could give that as a deposit until early in the morning, or my 1500 Euro Macbook Pro, I had already paid the deposit so my clean intentions were obvious. The receptionist didn't even look me in the eyes, just said: mmmthnaaa. At least one would expect that someone will look you in the eyes when basically telling you that you have to sleep in the streets tonight. Luckily, my credit card worked for the first time that day, so I was able to pay. Later on, on other occasions, everytime I asked for something, the guy didn't even look me in the eyes and he was even gone before I could say thank you.

Rooms were clean and tidy and the staff very cheerful and ready to help. Thumbs up from me

I don't like this place..because staff registration was rude with me((and it's realy exepensive and A&O doesn't cost spent money...

this here is a very nice place!!! many computers for internet, almost private rooms, even when hosteling, as they have lots and lots of rooms, the baths are inside the rooms, there is a bar, breakfast is cheap and aboundant! all's great!

Nice place at a good price. Nice hotel-atmosphere and good service. Location is not the most interesting, but the bar in the basement is a plus. Would stay there again.

This is a place where u can easily get good night sleep, there is also a bar so u dont need to go far for drinks if u dont want. But the place has no personality.

Great and cheap hostel

I had a great time.

Despite the fact that the hostel was clean and well supplied, the fact that we had to pay for everything including internet and hot water for tea immediately rendered the hostel somewhat less inviting and the "enterprise" factor more obvious. Furthermore after apparently having made some noise from our room on the third floor around 9 oclock pm, we were promptly visited by two big, male staff members to tell us to be quiet and that nightime starts at 6. 6?! So after that small confusion passed, we then wondered whether they had bothered quieting the screaming children that were constantly scurring around each floor. The common room was naff considering there were middleaged couples sipping beer and noisy 10 year olds playing pool(probably had to pay for that too), hardly an atmosphere travelling young adults would expect from a hostel. The hostel was considerably well situated near the train station, but unfortunately in the ugliest part of town. Admittedly I should have paid more attention to the A&O profile for being a family place and like a hotel. Would not reccomend to young adults travelling without a family.

Good hostel, found everything I needed.

Just perfect!! I have stayed in many hostels in other big European cities but this is far away the best.So clean, for breakfast many things, and the position was great.Only 10 minutes from the main rail station and other attractions! I will definetely recommend it in other cities such as Prague and Vienna when I ll go...

A little far from the metro stations, but clean and nice hostel. 24h reception, what really helps, but the staff don't know a lot about the city.

Went for a stag do with 9 other lads, clean rooms & decent location. Good value for money.

We were very happy ith our stay in the A&O City Hostel. As we arrived at the main train station it's location was just perfect for us. The room was perfectly clean. Towels and bedlinen are included if you book a 2 bed room. Nothing to complain about.

i really did enjoy my stay over there though it was for a stort period. i will definately recommend it to everyone who wants to stay close to the city centre at an affordable price. the staffs were everything you will want them to be. Will definately re-use.

It was greatful for us to sleep 1 night in A&O hostel as is wat very clean and has all needed staff although it was very cheap! So I can only said thank you!

It is generally a good Hostel. But I was not happy the way staff at receiption treated me. I bought telephone card for 1 euro but i could not manage to call and the staff were not kind at all to assist me. Even their language frustrated me. I cut my stay to 2 nights instead of 4. The Hostel is very nice but some few staff may not treat customers kindly.

This one, no i can´t recommend it. The staff was OK, but not really helpfull. Bathroom was clean but the room kind of smelled "funny"! Also it felt like you stayed in some kind of house for young people who has no other place to be... Couldn´t sleep cause of the thin walls and all the running around in the doorm. The positive thing about this hostel is it ´s relative near the trainstation.

I amdissappointed with how one of the male staff members approached foreign guests like me. he made me felt like an alien. But the otehr hispanic staff was so accomodating and firendly, her name is Elisanagel. She ia great asset in your team.

Overall, I amhaapy with services and could not asked for more.

Just to suggest that people in the front desk should have a people person type who are warnmth and accomodating enough to make the suests fell welcome.

I wish you the best and hope to stay in one of your hostels in the future.

The room was really comfortable and the forniture allocation was pretty nice, I mean spacefully. Even the bathroom was ok. Just one advice: change the curtain, cause they absolutely could not protect from the sunshine. Everything, anyway, was totally perfect!!!

we was a group of 14 and on behalf of the whole group we was shocked to find how good the hostel was. the only down thing was that their was a slow service for the reception shop, i will be back to stay again very soon. thank you

Only real complaint is that it's rather noisy, both being so near the road, and with rather thin walls. Also, no curtains made it difficult to sleep past sunrise (5 am?).

Cool rooms, nice staff.

My room and section of the hotel looked very unfinished. IKEA-stickers still on the furniture. There were no curtains and no toiletpaper in my room.

very clean indeed. not very cozy. slow staff and computers. gray surroundings. no food, expensive breakfast and drilling machines for waking up...

Everything is brandnew and the hostel is easy to location is easy to reach.
