C.C.Ly Hostel

I had a great stay in the CCLY . the place is gorgeous and the people extremly nice !

The hostel decoration and rooms are nice and ok. Bed matresses are outdated and not confortable. Wifi is not working well probably because of distance and users' load. Location is close to both the railway and bus stations but a little far away from the city center. However, the main problem in this hostel is the management which prefers to relocate hosts (even out of the hostel to other friend hostels/pensions) in order to accommodate groups which reserved the whole dormitories. It seems that they don't respect the bookings and are benefit-oriented in order to earn more money with group reservations. There are much better hostels closer to Catania city center and you can take the buses to Catania neighboring destinations also from the main stop close to the Duomo square without having to stay close to the bus station.Hope this helps other travelers.

Everything was good. Staffs were very kind and they provided everything I needed. I heard some people suffered from bed burg bites in here but I didn't get any bite. This place was perfectly clean.

Actually quite a nice hostel - clean and close to the station and city center. The immediate area is a bit dodgy, but the staff is nice and helpful. HOWEVER, they have bedbugs, so I cannot recommend to stay at this hostel.

The hostel looks nice and the location is good as well.

Breakfests are very frugal..You can only eat one roll. The owners are not really nice, they have problems with everything. There were problems with the reservation as well. Will not recommend.

Ok, if anything works at the hostel the price and the location are not bad at all, even the owner is very polite.

But I have to say that when I stayed there were problems because of insects in the rooms and we ended up with red spots on the skin. The staff at the hostel did not solve the problem, but tried to blame the guests. And for what I know they´re still accepting guests even though they know there are insects. What a business...

I arrived and after waking up the morning after a sleep realized I was covered in bites. Bed bugs tons of them. It seems to be infested at the moment. the main owner tried to tell me it was my fault even though I found out after that one of the girls staying there showed me pictures she took of the bugs she found when she arrived earlier that week. They did nothing about it. Everyone staying at the hostel found some in their beds and some bites. Lost an entire night sleep and in turn a day of travelling due to lack of sleep and finding other places to stay. We may have all brought them with us as they tend to travel. That was the first day of my trip and I've been itching since and wondering if I still have themwith ne. So a huge damper on a trip. They need to get this taken care of before they let anyone else stay there. I refused to pay which was not taken well. They did do laundry for us but then used that against us saying because they did our laundry we should stillpay for any nights spent in a bed there. It makes no sense. I've had to put lots of money into laundry again, anti itch creams, anti hystimine and and wasted days of travel. It's been an aweful experience. One of the main workers was sympathetic and trying to be helpful but seemed to not have much say when the main owner who treate us all terribly came into the picture. Don't stay till you see a clear review. Now I have to try to get my deposit back from here as well.

You can walk almost every sights.

I like the colour of contemporary . Yet the building is big Palace.

Overall a very good hostel with warm welcome and.good position/ premises BUT one very big problem : bed bugs !!!!! You need.to do something with it !!!

Totally cool place with great atmosphere and all the facilities.

A fun hostel conveniently located between the central station and the city centre, and only a 20 minute bus away from the airport. Staff are friendly and helpful in suggesting activities and places to go. Does the job.

everything was good. the staff could be a Little bit more friendly. but it was clean and we get breakfast and there was also a nice groupe room, where you can meet some other traveleres.

I was just passing through and needed a central location to get to the airport early in the morning.

It's a brightly coloured hostel in a good location. Check in was easy and access available any hour.

The only problem I had was getting eaten by bed bugs in the middle of the night! Yeah, if they took care of this (major) problem my recommendation score would go way up...

I love the interior design. The place is a little bit dificult to find.

Had a wonderful time here. Very charming hostel, friendly staff. Good atmosphere. Neighbourhood felt a bit dodgy perhaps, but I think it was a good location still.

Very friendly, comfortable and cozy :) easy to find and central to all you need to see in Catania! The communal lounge and kitchen could have been a little neater but I wasn't bothered and was happy to have a friendly place to stay.

Nice friendly staff, great location just next to central station and a lovely view of Mount Etna from the hostel. If I'm travelling to Catania again, I'm definitely going back to CCLY hostel!

The best place to stay in Catania, clean, good position, a very good staff, free wi-fi. If you have luck to be there on Friday, you can have a nice dinner, and a good opportunity to make some friends.

Nice hostel, but I think it would be better if we had had kitchen to make our own meals. Breakfast not included in the price. Location near to the city center, but we found the neighborhood quite unpleasant and insecure. A lot of prostitutes around the hostel, not very safe for our car neither.

It was a really fun place and the staff was great.

The hostel is very very nice and CLEAN!Well organized,a little bit expensive if you want to use internet wireless(50 cent/half hour on their pc; 7 euro/7 days, or 2.5 Euro/day, wireless with your laptop). Really near the central Catania train station,and about 5/7 mins by feet from the centre (Piazza Duomo).Air conditioning is ok in every room,male bathroom really clean,two kitchen locations free for breakfast and 1 euro for lunch/dinner.

When you arrive you pay immediatially,and they want about 15/20 euro more, for your costs, during your stay.If you have no more costs but your bedroom,they'll give you back at leaving.

The mixed room is very cheap,clean,smart (as the entire hostel);it's about 15/18 euro/night.

I'm Italian,I know in Sicily is not so simple to find a good hostel like this.
