Barca Guest House

We was lucky to stay in a small private house, with kitchen and private wc. Everything was excellent. The manager of the guesshouse was nice. Nothing to complain!

The hotel is neat. It is actually a room in one of the residences there. So, you keep hearing all the voices from adjacent rooms. Check-in is at another place and had to walk a lot the first day. After that the room is very near to piazzale roma. No room service at all. And the blanket provided is quite scary.

Location near the centre and bus station, we were accomadated at Antico Capon hotel,

a very small room with sloping floor,no wardrobe, no towels.

Really comfortable position near the bus/train station. I enjoyed staying there

The room was dirty and dusty. The sheets were ok but the blanket had not been washed for ages: it was originally yellow but looked brown and on the inside it was covered with long hair of other guests. We found this the most disgusting thing ever and it spoiled our night in Venice. The walls were quite dirty as well and there was stuff from previous guests under the bed. The bathroom was clean but no towels were provided, which was not specified in the description of the hostel. The lady living next door was kind and the position overall good. I would not recommend it.

Excellent location, reliable and helpful hosts. It is most probably the best value guest house in Venice.

One negative comment: they were not properly equipped for cold wheather (blankets)

Our bagage was lost during the fligths and arrived only the next day in Venice. Although the hostel doesn't have any reception to accept the bagage delivery, the owner helped us to get our bagage delivered to an hotel with reception. So in the evening we could easily pick up our baggage.

WARNING ARRIVAL INSTRUCTIONS POOR BUT YOU REALLY NEED THEM TO FIND HOSTEL. NOISY ONE NIGHT AS YOU SLEEP NEXT TO HIDDEN APARTMENT WHICH LOOKS LIKE A WALK IN WARDROBE..GOOD CONVENINET POSITION AND HOT WATER OTHERWISE BASIC

My girfriend and I stayed in Apartment/House 421 (near bus station). The room had a shared wall with living Italians (a little loud). The room was still under construction, but was nice...although a thermostat would have been nice for the chilly November nights. We like the location seeming we could jump on a early AM train, but at night walking back was a little creepy. All and all I would definitely stay there again for 100Euro (2nights 2people private bath)... Also note, there was no TV if for some reason you wanted to relax before bed.

Very close to bus and railway stations! only 5 min walk! What can I say? Good location, cheap and clean. This is guest room so no service room or breakfast etc.

Its very near to Bus Stop Piazzale Roma. Just 3 minutes walk. Very nice room with private toilet n shower. Get the house direction before you go to venice to make sure you dont have any problem to check in.

Everything more then perfect. Located at the entrance of Venice. 30 minute walk from San Marco. The perfect places for a cheap stay in Venice. Nice doble bed and very clean shower. Is like having your own appartment - without kitchen - in Venice as you get the main entrance key. Exellent deal!

room was very nice, clean and calm. The bathroom was shared only with one other room, so definately ok. Quite a cheap offer for the location! Just don't forget that the check-in is in another location - the Antico Capon at Campo Santa Margherita 3004!

everything was just fine, nice room, great bathroom... just the moschitos were little bit irritating, though the staff can´t be blamed of that....

The room was clean and comfortable, but it was disappointing that it was not part of a main hotel and was a little way from it. The apartment was easy to find but the hotel where you check in wasn't. We would reccommend a very detailed map, although it was an enjoyable stay.

Very nice and tidy, good position close to everywhere. We´ve enjoy our stay.

The room is provided in a flat in casual local block of flats,there is atmosphere of Venice.

no fan or aircon in the room, lots of mosquitoes, it's very hot in summer with still air. location near the train station (about 10mins walk), but far from the central area (about 20-30mins walk). room and toilet tastefully furnished.

They gave us a room with private bathroom. It's located in a very party neighborhood

We booked room without bathroom in Barca Guest House but for some reason we been accommodated in 1star Hotel Antico Capon for the same price in room with bathroom:)Special thanks for Mr Giorgio(Owner I guess) for changing our arrival date and for that room in hotel!!I Can Recommend that hotel to every one looking for cheap and nice place!!Very clean(Housekeeper every day) and great location.Value for money!Blazej and Monika -Poland

Located just 3 minutes away from the Busstation Piazzale Roma and 10 minutes away from Hotel Antic capon at Campo Santa Magheritha. (friendly staff)

It´s a nice, quiet and clean room without breakfast. The bathroom is new with a shower (2 towels for each person). You can get everywhere in a short time (on foot or with the vaporetto). A great place for people who want to see Venice and just need a clean and quiet room for sleep.

It's a private apartment in an ordinary building. The place is somewhat apart from the main attractions, but not far from Piazzale Roma and Santa Lucia Station. The place doesn't promise much at first sight, but the apartment is really modern, comfortable and quiet. If what you want is privacy and don't like hotels, it's a good option.

For some reason we slept at Antico Capon hostel instead of Barca Guest house. Easy going place for easy going people.

Although we had to cancel the day before we arrive. The hotel owner cancelled our reservation without payment. We got all our money back. Thank you very much for your understing. We will come to Venice and then i will book the same hotel. Thank you!!!

We didn't end up staying in the Barca Guest House as planned. Once we met the guys at Antico Capon, they were really nice and helpful and got us a similar room in a much better location. It wasn't anything special but we had a fantastic time on our stay in Venice.

We enjoyed the wonderful, non-luxury, simple but very large, clean and calm flat, quite near to the station, and had a lot of fun in Venice. We will surely come back when we're going to stay in Venice the next time !!! Thanx a lot !!!

The room where we lived is placed in a family house, there were no other rooms of the hostel. The only contact we had with the staff was when we got the keys. They were very friendly. The room was very clean with a new bathroom. There is no possibility to cook (no kitchen). It is not in the centre of Venice but in a very quite area. You can get everywhere by foot easily. We were content and would go there again. Towels and bed linen were there.

For unknown reason we were accomodated in Hotel Antico Capon (the place in which you have to register), which is actaully better quality hotel :)

Clean room with comfortable twin bed, no wardrobes.

Very close to center of Venice, a lot of restaurants nearby, maybe a bit noisy in the night but the overall mark is very high.

This flat with one bedroom, one bathroom and a kitchen is very useful and well placed for a young couple... Juste over a caffé and on a very plaisant place ! It's really nice in a popular place in the dosoduro area. I recommend that for young travellers who want to taste the venezian live during a few days

Beautiful double room with fantastic ensuite facilities. Very private. Located in a quite area while still being within walking disatnce to the tourist areas. The only flaw is that there was no kitchen facilities in the house however there is plenty of restraunts and cafe's near by.

A very warmly nice place to stay, far from tourists, and near the center though. Highly recommended for people (i.e. students) who want to travel with fewer money! The staff is also very friendly!

What can I say..It was just great!Very nice Italian on office :-)Perfect location, no other turists as it was something like a flat just for us, so we could feel free and really comfortable. The front door were little scary, but the rest was fine...ech..The best recomendation is that I want to come back there next year! Ciao :-)
