Unfortunately after 25 years of traveling, I had the most terrible expérience in an hotel. The Lady taking care of the facilities (daughter of the owners) screamed at me several times, acting like histerical.
The 1st time, it was when I arrived the 1st day, nobody was their to open the door, I was outside with my luggage and called the owner to have someone coming to open. After 10 minutes, I called again as nothing was happening. A guest of the hotel eventually went out of the building, so I entered to sit on the sofa of the lobby. Right after the daughter of the owners arrived mumbling in an agressive way "so you could not wait".
2nd terrible moment was 2 days later when she asked me to pay. I didnt have the money. She litterally starting to scream at me despite me saying that I could go to withdraw money rightaway. I asked where I could withdraw money in the neighborhood, she replied screaming "but there are at least five Banks around !". At that point I was very chocked. I didnt speak to her the rest of my stay and refused to thank her when leaving.
On top of that my bedroom was like hell : strong sewer smell coming from the bathroom, bathroom dirty, no working lamp on the side table of the bed, terrible heat with mosquitos and unability to open widely the Windows as there were cats on the roof ( one night, at 4 am, a cat jumped into my room).
Lastly : no Breakfast contrary to what is written on the website of the hotel.

after so many years of travelling it would be advisable to read carefully instructions left by the hostel you choose.
Our check in is from 11am, not whenever you choose to arrive at the door.
You did not select the option of breakfast and as a result did not receive it. We no longer serve free breakfasts, they are for pay.
Expecting payment on the second or third day of your stay is not unreasonable and if you did not have money what did hope to use? Most established businesses request payment on arrival not 2days later. So.... before you run off at the mouth to criticize check your own shortcomings.

I traveled a lot, I've seen a lot of hostels, but I've never imagined that it could be like this. I booked a privat room with a private bathroom, the bathroom was without toilet paper, the room was dirty and smelling sigarets. The breakfast also was smelling with old cheese still out of fridge a week ago more or less.

Da foarte bine mam simtit cand am intrat in aceast hostal care de fapt e o vila infecta in conditii inumane mizerie fara caldura si as sigura plina de plosnite miam cerut bani inapoi si am fugit cat am putut de repede . Nu recomand nici la dusmani acest hostal al groazei oribil si infect fara caldura iti ofera un reseu sa l bagi in priza In rest murdar tot nu am putut sa dorm acolo doar am vazut cum arata si am plecat pe strazi . Rusine romania niciodata no sa fiti la standard european daca va bateti joc de lume in halul asta

Vila 11 is perfect place if you like old style - here you can have feeling as to be in a grandmother house ;-) Owners are very nice and kind.

This is a small house near the main station, Gara de Nord. It's hidden away on a back street, and the directions for finding it could have been easier. It's quiet, with basic facilities. The stairs require you take care. Please check power socket in Maria room, though it could be my UK adaptor which was faulty. Friendly staff, but ringing for them can make you feel like you're inconveniencing them. I'd certainly recommend it for value for money, and location.

Nice cozy place close to Bucharest Central Train Station (Gara de Nord), lots of personality, 1920s house full of traditional Romanian flaire. Nice breakfast, just fine for starting a busy day in buzzy Bucharest. We very much enjoyed the rooms which all have their own Romanian name and traditional design and the shelves of books which are just perfect to read throuh (in any language you may like, EN, FR, DE, etc.) at any time of the day and night. If you want something relativelly simple, and yet wish to discover something of Romanian tradition, love the antique and enjoy history, you should take a look at this hostel. It is very likely that you never encounter something like this again.. :)

A big house near the center and the Bucarest's main trains station. For me it was a great time! You can take a shower, sleep, eat and have a breakfast! And moreover, you can easily speak and share your experience with a lot of different people! But my wife says Vila11 was quite dirty, stained bedsheet and not confortable to take a good shower and to eat in silence! So it depends of what you're looking for! If you want confort and peace, chose something else, and if you want a good backpacker'experience, it's a good place to go !! It may be a little expensive for what it is...

The location is ideally situated, a short walk from Gara de Nord, & central Bucuresti. More like visiting family and friends, Debbie's pancake breakfast delicious, also an ideal opportunilty to meet fellow travellers

so laid back it is almost unconscious, perfect for feeling at home and relaxing.Only small critisism I would have liked wifii as i needed to contact people via email, but a short trip to local internet cafe sorted that out.

The hostal is quite ok for its price. Very good position 5 minutes walk from main train station (Gara de Nord). The owner Deborah was extremely friendly and provided nice information, although she was not always available.

Convenient location near the train station so no need for a taxi. Although a bit difficult to find since it's in a small side road. Don't turn up before 8:30am as a family run hostel and they don't appreciate being woken up!
