We showed you the best markets in México, we have told you about what to do, what to eat and where to sleep in Bogota…and, because we liked the area so much, today we decided to take you to Cuba and tell you the 5 things that you can’t miss in Trinidad.

The city of Trinidad is located in the center of the country, at the south of Sancti Spiritus, and is the capital of the municipality with the same name. A destination that shouldn’t miss in your bucketlist, do you want to know a bit more about this beautiful cuban city? Perfect, let's go!

CANTERO PALACE

Even if the official name is Museo Municipal de Trinidad –National Museum of Trinidad- popularly is known like that for being located at the old Palacio de Cantero. A building that has nothing in common with the trinitarian tradition but a lot with the cosmopolitan tastes of the nineteenth century.

Related to this amazing architectural work coexist the greco-roman, renaissance and neoclassical styles, that you can see specially in its patios. Also, the house is decorated with murals of local and Italian painters.

A place to breath pure art!

PLAZA MAYOR

Just a few words are needed to convince you to visit this beautiful square, we tell you that it constitutes the heart of Trinidad's historic center and that it was declared Humanity Heritage by the UNESCO in 1988.

If it seems little to you, you have to know that it is formed for four symmetrical rectangles intended for gardening, and the Lonza Bremesa, the paved area. At the center we can see a pedestal on which stands a sculpture of the muse Terpsichore, daughter of Zeus and Mnemósine, linked to poetry and dance.

CASA DE LA MÚSICA

Just a few steps from the last highlight place of Trinidad, is located one of the best musical avenues of Cuba: La Casa de la Música (The House of Music). A place that is full of life when sun goes down. Enjoy the authentic cuban rum, dance all night thanks to its traditional salsa and contagion yourself with the joy of the inhabitants of Trinidad.

But, be careful! Don’t make the mistake of leaving when the live music finish, the party is not over yet! Follow the owners till the next one. If you need to recharge your energy, you can always stop at one of its nearby grills market.

Let yourself be carried away by Cuban rhythms!

ANCON BEACH

Since we imagine that after the last party you will need some relax, nothing better than a quite day at one of the most beautiful beaches that you will see, and also, not much frequented, which gives it even more charm.

Lay on its white sand, protect yourself from the sun's rays under a natural umbrella, swim in its warm waters or take a walk by its shore. Its landscape will make you speachless!

TOPES DE COLLANTES

The Protected Natural Park Topes de Collantes is an ideal option for hiking or observe the fauna, specialy the autochthonous birds. Losing yourself through its mountain labyrinth and discovering a multitude of caves and waterfalls is such a pleasure.

If you want to rest a bit, we recommend you to visit the Finca Codinaand take a coffee at its orchid garden, an indescribable sensation. And for when hunger tightens, nothing better than taste a delicious criolla meal at the restaurant of the park El Nicho, with the sound of the waterfall as a background.
