Description

Hotel Cajupi, in the city of Gjirokaster, is widely known as the largest tourist complex in its region. With a convenient location for touristic travel, the hotel sits beneath the castle of Gjirokaster in the Cities Square named after the patriot “Cerzciz Topulli”.

Its construction began in 1960 with the intent to work with the Albanian Architecture Professor Skender Luarasi. The structure of the hotel was carried out by the best experts of its time. In particular, the arc in the hotel’s entrance was made of craved stone.
The hotels official opening date, 18 September 1964, coincided with a ceremony and also the liberalization day of Gjirokastra, where it was given the name “Tourism”.

Hotel Cajupi was built by the communist regime of its time and also served the few tourists and foreign delegations that visited Gjirokastra.
It was the hotel’s staff that made ​​the name of Tourism well known for its service, unique traditional cuisine, and deserts.
